About the home

Our privately owned, two bedroom, south facing, second floor, self-catering apartment is brand new and in a fantastic location with stunning views of the Pirin mountains and is only 400m from the gondola ski lift and an easy walk to the lovely old town of Bansko.

The apartment is approx. 84sq m, much larger than most alpine apartments, and comfortably sleeps up to 6 people. Surrounded by the Pirin, Rila and Rhodope mountains and 95 miles from the capital of Sofia, the ancient town of Bansko is a thriving mountain resort with a population of around 10,000.

In the winter - Bansko has some of the finest skiing in Easter Europe and must provide one of the best value skiing and snowboarding experiences in the world.

In the summer - The town transforms itself in the Summer into an outdoor activity paradise offering superb opportunities such as mountain biking, mountain climbing (see www.freemountains.com), walking, fishing, rafting, golfing (only a few miles away is the Ian Woosnam designed Pirin Golf and Country club), and of course the Melnik wine region approx 23 km away.

A deposit of 30 percent of the full rental cost is required within one week of booking. The full balance + a security deposit of £100 is payable 6 weeks prior to arrival. The deposit can be paid via cheque payable to ‘Crystal Bansko A18’, on-line or by bank transfer.

Prices are quoted in pounds sterling for a minimum stay of one week from Saturday to Saturday (arrival is at 3pm, please vacate the apartment by 11 am on the day of departure).

15 percent discount for bookings of 2 or more consecutive weeks.

Conditions

No pets are permitted within the apartment, nor is smoking allowed. There must be at least one responsible adult in a holiday party. Under no circumstances can we be held responsible for snow conditions or the closure of ski lifts, no refunds for these reasons will be considered.

The old mountain resort of Bansko has benefited from significant recent investment and is establishing itself as a fast-improving centre for winter skiing and summer activities of all kinds, including walking, mountaineering and biking in the Pirin National Park and golf at a nearby course designed by Ian Woosnam.

Being Bulgaria, everything is still extremely favourably priced.

* Mountains during the summer - only the main gondola works during the summer so best to take the car if you
want to go higher. For those without the car, the ski lift cost 5 lv per person one way.

Easy 3 hour flight to historical Sofia. Depending on the time of year you can try use www.easyjet.com from Gatwick & Manchester, www.wizzair.com from Luton, www.airbg.com from Manchester, www.aerlingus.com from Dublin, www.expedia.co.uk for flights from London.

You can also fly to and from Thessaloniki in Greece with is approx 250 km away.

Transfers from Sofia Airport to Bansko are approx 2.5 hours which gives you a chance to take in the lovely countryside of Bulgaria.

By Car- Hiring a car can start from as little as GBP 15.00 a day (see www.rentacarbulgaria.com or www.avis.co.uk (you can hire a car out in Bansko if you wanted just a few days hire).

By Coach – Frequent service during the day only to Bansko. The coach station is approx. 5 mins drive from the Airport (centre of Sofia city centre) - see www.centralbusstation-sofia.com (approx GBP 7.00 return). The coaches are comfortable (with toilet and air conditioning) and you will experience great views of the countryside & stop half way at a taverna for a break!

Courtesy car/taxi – works out approx GBP70.00 each way (per car not per person) – haggle if need be for this price – don’t pay any more! The owners can put you in touch with an English speaking coach/taxi/minibus service.
Or you can e-mail the complex and they will arrange collection/return to the Airport - for approx £50.00 each way (not per person)
