Villa Lilly is a stylish beachfront property benefitting from a blend of contemporary architecture with traditional Thai influences. It sits on the beach at Laem Noi on the north west of Koh Samui just along from the beach of Bang Po with its many chilled out bars & restaurants. It is also very close to the world acclaimed Four Seasons Resort and the newly built million dollar Mandalay villas that sit further along the beach. Laem Noi is a very chilled and relaxing beach that offers views over to the Ang Thong Marine Park and hosts a lovely beach bar/restaurant for that sun downer cocktail or refreshing ice cold drink.
Approached from the road via landscaped gardens and through an impressive entrance doorway with secure walls. Railway sleepers form a natural pathway through the entrance and into the inner courtyard. A wavy sandstone pathway splits the first tropically planted garden area and leads to the two separate pavilions which make up this property and which form an L-shape around the infinity swimming pool. Steps lead up and into the first pavilion on the right that overlooks the pool, the garden and out across the ocean.
The first room on the ground floor is well set out and has a vaulted glass ceiling making it an extremely light and attractive space. A floating wooden staircase leads upstairs and the recess beneath is an appropriate space for the TV cabinet. At the rear of the room a door leads through into the master suite. In here, there are built-in wardrobes on the back wall that are split by the entrance into the exceptional en-suite bathroom. On entering you're faced with black marble and natural slate walls. In the centre area there are beautiful chrome twin sinks set below a large mirror. To the left is the toilet and to the right a corner Jacuzzi bathtub. Back into the master suite there's a wooden 4 poster beds, dressing area and lovely views out through the bi-folding doors that lead out onto the pool terrace. From the lounge the floating staircase takes you up to a gallery. A door leads through to another en-suite bedroom. This has twin beds, fitted wardrobes, a relaxing chez-lounge and an en-suite shower room. Leaving this pavilion there's a stunning Frangipani tree planted before the swimming pool and to the left of that is the entrance to the next pavilion. This is a function and flexible area with a wooden vaulted ceiling and which can be opened into one sizeable living space or sectioned off to create more private areas.
As you enter from the sandstone path, the first section of this pavilion houses an incredible water hyacinth and teak day bed, there's a free standing mirror and wardrobe and the entrance into the bathroom with a walk-in shower. Folding wooden doors can isolate this room turning it into a private en-suite bedroom if required. With the doors fully open the room expands firstly into a centrally placed dining room with antique wooden dining table and cabinet. From there you walk through to another lounge area and on the left is a fully fitted kitchen and walk-in store cupboard. To the right of this lounge area there's a sala complete with sun loungers and wooden decking leading onto the garden. Within the garden there's a dining table and chairs and a path taking you to the private entrance onto the beach.
The blue-tiled pool wraps around the sala and right up to the decking which runs along the side of the pavilion. The pool incorporates a bench style Jacuzzi feature which runs across the edge directly in front of the master-suite. This is a well located and well laid out property which is individual in design, blending cutting edge contemporary designs with traditional Thai architectural features.

The Surat Thani Province region
Located in the gulf of Thailand 80 Kms off the coast of Surat Thani and about 560 Kms south of Bangkok, is the magical island of Koh Samui.
The island, Thailand´s third largest and measuring 21 kilometers at its widest point and 25 kilometers in maximum length, is one of a group of 80 tropical islands, most of them are deserted. A mountain ridge runs east to west and most of the inner-land comprises forested hills. The rich hues of wild vegetation are dappled throughout with the contrasting greens of coconut palms and emerald paddy fields.
With a land superficy of approx. 280 sq. Km, Koh Samui has a local population of a mere 34,000.
Samui was the bohemians paradise - carefree, exotic with an abundance of white sandy beaches and swaying tropical palms, indeed paradise on earth. The lack of accessibility, kept Samui basking in the sunshine away from the rest of the world and especially mainstream tourism. Back then, you could get a room on the beach for as little as 200 Baht.
The local population consisting mainly of Buddhist Thais is very friendly. Until the recent arrival of tourism, coconut farming and fishing were the main sources of income. The latter are still practiced though to a lesser extent. The fish you'll eat in the many restaurants and hotel dining rooms comes from the surrounding Gulf of Thailand' waters.
The largest and most popular beaches on Samui are Chaweng, Lamai, Bophut and Maenam. For those looking for a quieter place to spend their holiday or business trip, there are another 20 or so other beaches to choose from.
As to the activities and if you are not a beach or water sports type, there is still a lot to do and visit (Buddhist temples, boat trips, waterfalls, ...).
Koh Samui is the rare gem of the Gulf of Thailand. Conserving the idyllic simplicity of a tropical hideaway, it is mostly characterized by its powdery white sand beaches, crystal-clear waters and welcoming locals where you will delight yourself in a late-day Robinson Crusoe experience in comfort.
Bang Po Beach
Bang Po is on the north west part of the island of Koh Samui and has many small beaches scattered along the coast. Most of the accommodation found here are private villas for rent and houses, though you will also find a few bungalow type resorts.
It is a relaxed, chilled part of the island but due to its location it still remains close enough to the entertainment, nightlife, shopping and activity centres. With only a 20-minute drive to the famous Fisherman's Village and 30 min drive to the very busy Chawang area this part of the island maintains a very popular holiday location.
Even though Bang Po is a relatively small place, it has certainly its share of spas and health retreats as well as more simple massage place on the beach. The dining possibilities range from simple Thai kitchens along the beach or the ring road to high end restaurants, offering everything from Thai, to vegetarian and Vietnamese cuisine.
