The Central England/Cotswolds region

Set on the edge of the Cotswold's bordering the 3 counties of Oxfordshire, Warwickshire and Northamptonshire, Slated Barn is around 20 miles from Shakespeare's birthplace Stratford upon Avon, Warwick Castle and Silverstone and under one hour from London from the local train station. Convenient for the Fairport Cropredy festival and 14 miles from the Cornbury festival, Slated Barn is close to the market town of Banbury famous for the nursery rhyme 'Ride a cock horse to Banbury Cross' and the popular events of the Canal Day and Folk Festival. Slated Barn is a great base for exploring the 'dreaming spires of Oxford', National Trust Properties and Gardens such as Blenheim, Stowe, Althorpe, Hidcote and many more.

The local area is full of pretty villages with great pubs and restaurants, farm shops with local produce, great for walking and cycling. Close by is the Heritage Motor Centre Motor Museum and the National Trust Properties Upton House, Farnborough Hall, Compton Verney. The National Herb Centre, bistro and nature trail, Fir Tree Falconry and Carpenters Farm Shop are a two minute drive away with the superb Castle Inn, over looking the site of the Battle of Edgehill just a five minute drive.
