Maphráaw was built and furnished in late 2007 to a very high standard. The villa is privately owned, providing a more personal feeling of comfort, yet is well balanced with the blend of an open-planned fresh atmosphere to full take advantage of the panoramic sea views it has to offer. Rarely will you find a villa which has 5 en-suite bedrooms!!! Rent this villa and you will have your very own small hotel!! In addition, because this villa is brand new, it boasts amazingly low rental rates, with the aim of maximum exposure. You will not find another 650sqm, 5 bedroom villa anywhere close to these prices in Samui!!! Even though you may not need all the bedrooms, you know that you have a spacious private villa for practically the same price as a 3 bed equivalent. The villa is naturally cooled by hill breezes and to make the most of this the upper living areas are well ventilated, surrounded by large opening windows right across the villa, ceiling fans and cool terra-cotta tiles underfoot; whilst the 5 beautifully designed en suite bedrooms have built-in air conditioning units and wooden floor boards.
To ensure you are adequately pampered and to further enjoy your experience in the villa, the property provides a twice-weekly maid service whilst you stay, ensuring the villa remains immaculate and fresh linen / towels are always available. Villa Maphráaw also offers exclusive discounts for popular restaurants and scuba diving trips / courses. You will also be provided with a complimentary ‘Thai’ mobile SIM card (for the duration of your stay) to ensure that you can contact friends and family from the outset of your holiday.
The villa is located on the North-Western side of the island and secluded in the mountainside of beautiful Santi-Thani (with 24 hour security) with unforgettable sea views over Samui’s neighbouring islands. The local 'Ban Tai' beach is only 2 minutes away by car, the closest town of Maenam only 5 minutes and just 10 minutes from new international standard 18-hole golf course – Santiburi. The villa is completely isolated providing you with complete privacy, yet you are only a couple of minutes away from civilization. A vehicle is advised during your stay because of this. The villa has been carefully designed to blend into the beautiful surrounding landscape. Its Thai Spa-like design boasts natural colours with waterfalls either side of the main entrance, together with a beautiful pond with further water features across the full stretch of the villa. To the side of the villa, the Thai-styled roof extends over the private car-park, providing a large cool, shaded parking area, enough for 2 cars. Walkways either side of the villa provides direct access to the landscaped gardens and swimming pool area.
The first floor comprises a spacious open planned living room area featuring high beamed ceilings. The floor offers a balcony on which to sit and enjoy the daily spectacular sunrise. There is also airy dining room connected to the hand-crafted kitchen, which is immaculately presented with every western convenience, making the villa suitable for those with a taste for comfort and luxury. A home entertainment room is featured through double doors, featuring a large flat-screen TV (offering over 60 satellite channels), DVD and home entertainment centre, with surround sound, for those evenings where you choose to sit back and relax with your favourite drink and watch your preferred channels or movies.
The floor below has 2 large en suite bedrooms both with king size beds. The master bedroom offers a home entertainment centre, a walk-in dressing room area and a magnificent en-suite bathroom with double sink, shower and bath. Both of these principal bedrooms have large French-windows that open directly on to the pool terrace. Sandwiched between the 2 bedrooms is a further large en suite bedroom which accommodates a queen-sized bed with separate dressing room and another magnificent en-suite bathroom with double sink, shower and bath.
A second set of stairs take you down to 2 further large private en suite bedrooms, featuring a queen-sized bed (bed 4) and 2 single beds (bed 5), separate dressing rooms and spacious sliding doors onto the terrace maximizing that airy feeling, much needed in beautiful Samui.
The house is U-shaped and is built partially around a 9 x 4 meter kidney shaped infinity-edged swimming pool, ensuring extensive privacy (please note that due to the infinity edge, supervision of children around the pool area is necessary). The pool is 1.7 meters at its deepest point. Within the pool there is a submerged tiled seat which incorporates a Jacuzzi where you can sit and relax, taking in the superb sea-views the villa has to offer. The pool deck offers a dining area, sun beds and a large parasol. This villa also provides you with the exclusive opportunity to learn how to scuba dive in the comfort of the villa.
Below the pool area, a further large terrace allows you to walk around the waterfall feature which gently flows from the pool above. This area provides another peaceful, relaxing and sunbathing area. Here you will find access to the fully landscaped garden.

• All airport transfers to and from the villa are complimentary. You will travel by private car or minibus directly to your location.
• As soon as the reservation is confirmed we kindly ask you to send us your flight details so that our Guest Relations Manager may arrange the airport pick up.
Cancellation Conditions:
To avoid speculative reservation, we apply the following cancellation conditions:
• Cancellation prior to arrival: It is a condition of the booking that the entire party is covered by comprehensive travel insurance which will provide compensation to you in the event of cancellation.
• In the event that you cancel the booking or shorten the period of stay after payment of the deposit and/or balance, no refund will be made. The booking deposit is not returnable under any circumstances.

Koh Samui is the rare gem of the Gulf of Thailand. Conserving the idyllic simplicity of a tropical hideaway, it is mostly characterized by its powdery white sand beaches, crystal-clear waters and welcoming locals where you will delight yourself in a late-day Robinson Crusoe experience in comfort.
In such an idyllic setting the temptation is simply to laze peacefully on the beach and soak up a tropical sun tan. But if you want more there are amenities for water sports, such as windsurfing, kayaking, fishing, scuba diving and snorkeling. The coastal waters are exciting to explore and are especially rich in shoals of brightly coloured fish and exotic coral formations. You even have the opportunity to learn how to scuba dive in the comfort of the villa itself (see scuba diving section)
The largest and most popular beaches on Samui are Chaweng, Lamai, Bo Phut and Maenam. For those looking for a quieter place to spend their holiday or business trip, there is another twenty or so other beaches to choose from.
Principal among Samui's natural sights are two picturesque waterfalls, Hin Lad and Na Muang. Island hopping is another attraction and boats can be easily hired for trips to Koh Phangan (the nearest and largest island next to Samui), and to the smaller islands of Koh Tao, where beautiful bays with colourful coral formations offer excellent conditions for snorkeling and scuba diving.
A more adventurous full day excursion can be made to Ang Thong National Marine Park, a group of 40 islands northwest of Samui. Here you will see spectacular limestone formations, caves, blue lagoons and amazingly beautiful beaches.
The local population consisting mainly of Buddhist Thai’s is very friendly. Until the recent arrival of tourism, coconut farming and fishing were the main sources of income. The latter are still practiced though to a lesser extent. The fish you will eat in the majority of restaurants originate from the surrounding Gulf of Thailand waters
The Ban Tai / Santi Thani area

My wife and i have just spent a week with 7 of our friends at this villa. It is a perfect place for a getaway trip, situated on hillside with awesome view on coast, palm tree forest and neighboring islands. The service was superb. we were collected at the airport and a great dinner cooked by in-house chef was waiting for us at villa. During our stay Stuart, the owner, helped us a lot, organizing car and motorbike rental and memorable trips to nearby islands. Villa is greatly planned piece of architecture. It has got everything you may think of. The Villa is absolutely like you see it on the pictures. There's plenty of space with 5 air-conditioned bedrooms, a pool area, kitchen, gas grill, internet access, big dining room, music all around the house, and a big collection of DVDs. We have recommended the villa to our friends and plan to return there next year. Thanks a lot, Stuart! we still see the villa in our dreams. Stayed here and really was impressed with the villa, even after going up the mountain! The views are stunning, the villa is well laid out and practical for a group to get around and have quiet time from each other. I had the main bedroom, it opens up on to the swimming pool. Taking a cd from the library to listen too through the surround sound was lovely. When Stuart says he will be on hand he really is on hand for everything that you need, but never overboard he is a smashing bloke who gives 100% to his guests. The people who come and clean, the pool man, bin men and security are just lovely and never get in the way. Stay at the villa, hire a car and that's a must, and you will have such a good time. Every where is easy to get too from the villa. You either turn left and stay on the road or turn right and stay on the road and you will get back to the villa. The hire car people drop the car off for you and pick it up from you with out you ever knowing! Stuart has a good business with people he deals with and passes the relationship on to his guests. Wow: A great place to hang out
We have just returned from a fantastic holiday at Villa Maphraaw. We were only there for 6 days as part of a 3 week holiday in Thailand and I can say these were the best days of it. This villa is soo quiet yet you are only 5 minutes away from the hustle and bustle of Maenam. It has been well maintained (looks brand new to be honest) and the view is spectacular. A rental car or motorbike (we went for the mopeds which were fine) is recommended, although we did use the taxi service the villa has to offer on a couple of nights. Trust me, if you are thinking of booking this villa...go for it... from 8 very happy people from the UK

Awesome place for a getaway

A dream home on a dream island
My husband and I stayed at Villa Maphraaw from 01/07/2011 till 22/07/2011 and this was by far the best Villa we have ever stayed in. Stuart, Owner/Manager has certainly made this home very comfortable for his guests. The villa is equipped with everything one can possibly need and more. We felt very at home and quite spoilt whilst staying there. We wanted for nothing.
The view is magnificent and the furniture is very mod and comfortable. Stuart was always just a phonecall away and ready to help in any way (thanks for bringing Mike's id book to the airport Stuart, this was going beyond the call of duty). We would not hesitate to recommend this villa to anyone and we will also most certainly be back.

This Villa rocks!!!
I had a great time in this villa. We had a party of 10 people staying. Stewart was a great help and stocked our fridge with ice cold beer prior to our arrival and helped us rent scooters delivered to the villa. This villa is on a very high hill. Do rent a car or scooter or else you'll be sorry walking for 30+ mins up a monstrous hill. The villa was tastefully designed with luxury. Everything was available for a vacation rental to pots and pans to dvds/CDs and washer and dryer. The only downside was that a/C was in every room except the living areas such as kitchen, livingroom, tv room. They provided you with fans and ceiling fans, but it was really unbearable in May trying to hang out in those areas without a/C. But it made a great excuse to hang out in the pool all day/night with the outdoor speaker system blasted to our favorite music. Overall I had a great experience with Villa Maphraaw. Stewart was very helpful and If I ever had a chance to visit Koh Samui again Villa Maphraaw would definately be first on my mind.

Luxury hideaway in Koh Samui
I booked this villa as it seemed to suit my needs for a spacious property away from the bustle of the main resorts
It exceeded our expectations. It was on a hillside overlooking a forest of palm trees, and the coast. The accommodation was perfect for our family, with all space you could need and rooms for the children to relax in and watch films in. The pool area was lovely, and was safe for our five year old daughter. The accommodation is very flexible. It actually has five bedrooms, all en-suite, and ten people could fit in it comfortably, we used the three top bedrooms and it did not feel too big for our family of four
The villa is five minutes away from the main ring road around the island, so with a car, everywhere is easily accessible
Probably the thing which stood out over other villas we have stayed in, was the service which came with the villa. We were collected at the airport, and dropped off at the end of the stay, our car hire was organised for us, and was delivered to the villa. The place was cleaned daily, and there is a chef available if required, who did a fantastic job, and was very reasonable. There is also internet provided, and a large selections of Dvd's and Cd's in the villa.
Stuart, the villa manager was on hand if we needed anything, and he made sure that we had the relaxing and enjoyable stay that we needed.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this property to anyone

Stunning 5* villa
An excellent place to relax and enjoy a 5* holiday. The villa and surrounds were amazing, but a car essential to reach the hilly location. So many affordable local restaurants no need to cook. Although we did have a local chef in to cook a special meal which was lovely. Stuart the owner was very helpful with local information and tips to enjoy our stay in Koh Samui.

Superb & Perfect Holiday
From the moment we arrived (5days late) to the moment we left everything about Villa Maphraaw was perfect!
It is a first class, 5* villa for sure! Everything you need is there!
Stuart was wonderful, organising trips, chefs & massages for us - he was only ever a phonecall away if we needed anything!
There is a great english speaking taxi service available from the villa to take you all over the island - the number is on the mobile phone supplied by Stuart at the Villa!
Hiring a car is a necessity as it is quite a steep climb to the villa and it will also help you to explore the beautiful island of Samui!
The views from the villa are unsurpassable!!
The Fisherman's Village in Bo Phut is a must, many great restaurants and bars can be found here!
Jun Hom Seafood restaurant is practically opposite the entrance gates - great food and a fantastic beach front location!
Have already recommended the villa to friends and would recommend it to everyone!!
We went as a family of 7 - ageing from 14 - 46, and everyone really enjoyed the superb stay at the villa.
We are definitely hoping to go back again!!

pure relaxation
where to start the whole experience was fabulous high up on a mountain with views of the amazing landscape and islands in the sea stuart is a very laid back manager who was available for us at any time including an incident when one of our party had to be rushed to hospital he came to the hospital with us and helped with language and and offered his help continually he didnt turn up all the time but just on the odd occasions to bring us water bottles and have a chat he was very informative on the island and gave us advice on how to spend our time the villa had lots of little things like torches pens a first aid box selotape all the things you tend to forget but very often need altogether a very special holiday for us all we shall keep memories for a long time

Awesome - Amazing - A must do
The Villa was awesome!! We had a big group come to Ko Samui for New Year's....and 10 of us were staying at the Villa. It was the most beautiful, zen, best designed house...overlooking the most amazing view in Thailand. I would highly recommend anyone staying here. I could have stayed for months. Stuart the owner was so great in helping us set different things up before we got there and while we were there. He was so easy to work with and was so helpful and full of advice when we needed it. If you want to stay an amazing house in a beautiful place...this is it!

Exclusive experience with 5 star service
Villa Maphraaw was an awesome experience for 10 guys from Finland. Spectacular views, 5 star accommodation and our great villa manager Stuart made our stay at Samui unforgettable!
Although the pool broke down, Stuart was doing everything to fix it and when our car broke down on the other side of the island, Stuart got us a new vehicle in just 2 hours.
Villa is at least as beautiful as in the pictures and the location is nice and peaceful. Just be prepared that you have to rent a car or scooter to get to places because the villa is very high on the hillside.

Gorgeous house with stunning view
We picked this villa because of the stunning pictures on several website including the villa’s own page (browse for Villa Maphraaw) and we have not been disappointed. The villa is a beauty and located in an villa community high up on a mountain overlooking what we called the ‘Jungle’. The view was spectacular. The villa is very spacious with an enormous living area, great kitchen and home theater tv room (which we only used a couple of times). The decoration of the villa is of great taste in our opinion. Ensure to have some kind of transportation because you don’t want to climb the mountain with your groceries. The living area on the top floor was sometimes a bit too hot since it was lacking air-conditioning however there were additional fans supplied. The pool is nice and definitely not too small once you dive in and wow what a view! Oh and by the way the house comes with special protection of the house cats that live outside the house.

Honeymoon Heaven
Newly married and looking for a peaceful retreat for a honeymoon with kids we found exactly what we needed in Villa Maphraaw.
A wonderful house in a great setting with a view to die for. Perfectly hidden away from all the action of the beaches but close enough to enjoy what they offered when needed.
Stuart (owner manager) was easily contactable by email or phone and responded to any questions immediately but was non-intrusive and let us be to enjoy the villa.
We were 5 people but the house is big and can easily accommodate 2 families. We intend to return next year with friends and cant wait to see the house come alive with more people and to take advantage of the cook. I can't recommend Villa Maphraaw enough - you won't find a better, great value for money rental villa on Koh Samui.

Conditions of Stay
• Minimum stay of 3 nights (7 nights over Christmas and New Year)
• A nonrefundable deposit of 30% is required to secure your reservation.
• The balance of total rental amount is due a minimum of 4 weeks before the check in date.
• Payments are to be made via a Pay Pal account or a bank SWIFT transfer to our bank account
• Smoking within the villa is not permitted (ashtrays are provided outside of the villa)
Airport Transfers
• We recommend you to book your flight to Samui directly online with Bangkok Airways
• All airport transfers to and from the villa are complimentary. You will travel by private car or minibus directly to your location.
• As soon as the reservation is confirmed we kindly ask you to send us your flight details so that our Guest Relations Manager may arrange the airport pick up.
Cancellation Conditions:
To avoid speculative reservation, we apply the following cancellation conditions:
• Cancellation prior to arrival: It is a condition of the booking that the entire party is covered by comprehensive travel insurance which will provide compensation to you in the event of cancellation.
• In the event that you cancel the booking or shorten the period of stay after payment of the deposit and/or balance, no refund will be made. The booking deposit is not returnable under any circumstances.
