"As expected for price paid."

Stayed hear over the new year period and the property was very nice, clean and very modern. We got everything what was described in advertisement however I was not impressed with the location.I thought… More

As the agents representing this property we were very surprised to read this review. It has always been extremely popular with a huge amount of repeat guests. The owner have also made the following comments.

The cottage is not advertised as being secluded. It is at the end of a country lane with the nearest property 30 metres away, sheltered by stonewalls and hedges. The nearest properties for let are approximately 50 metres away. The cottage is in an extremely peaceful and tranquil location.
The boiler, hot water cylinder and some controls for the heating and hot water system are locked in a cupboard for safety. Both the heating and hot water controls are set to constant, that means they are ON all the time. The temperature of the cottage is adjusted by a thermostat and access is available to all guests, so the temperature can be set as required.
This is clearly explained in the cottage instruction manual .Also there are two multifuel stoves,
one in the dayroom and one in the lounge. Coal, logs and firelighters are provided.
Bamburgh is ONE mile away by road, half a mile down the lane to Dukesfield and half a mile down
The coast road. A total of ONE mile. This has been verified on numerous occasions. Also across the
fields it is even closer. The cottage is advertised as “car advised” and we certainly would not
recommend walking into Bamburgh in the dark. Cards for numerous local taxi companies are
left at the cottage.
Our caretaker did check and clean the garden at lunchtime on the day of arrival of the Guests.
The garden is enclosed and gated. We can only assume that the comments about cleaning up the
mess in the garden are as accurate as their stated distance to Bamburgh.
All our Guests are provided with 24hr response telephone numbers for both Grace Darling Holidays our agents and our caretaker.
Additionally our caretaker called on the sun/mon of the visit and spoke to the Guests.
No concerns were raised with our caretaker during that visit or by telephone at anytime.
This is typical of the contradictory nature of the review.
For a property that “is not special”,it is amazing that the majority of bookings are repeats and the
visitors book contains so many complimenting comments
