The Granary offers spacious farmhouse style holiday accommodation set in a peaceful location less than a mile from the beautiful and popular village of Bamburgh, famous for its magnificent Castle and stunning, unspoilt and sandy beaches. This lovely property has plenty of space for a large family or a group of up to 8 friends, divers, surfers, walkers, cyclists and explorers. There are four good size bedrooms, 3 bath/shower rooms, a large kitchen and dining area, a large lounge with a wood burning stove and a huge enclosed garden, private parking for 3 cars, Wi-Fi, secure storage for bikes and other holiday equipment.
To summarise the accommodation; there are two king size bedrooms, one with a small en-suite shower room, a twin bedroom (on the ground floor) and a further a double bedroom with an additional single bed so this can be used either as a twin bedroom or as a double for a third couple. Upstairs, there is a family bathroom with an electric shower over the bath and downstairs there is a shower room with WC and washbasin. With the twin bedroom downstairs too, this may be a good option for someone with restricted mobility. There is one step up to the kitchen however).
The lounge is spacious and light with a cosy multi fuel stove (N.B. an initial supply of logs is supplied). French windows lead out to the stone walled garden which is an excellent size for running about in or for a family game of 4 a-side football! The stunning kitchen dining area is a great size for entertaining a larger group with a huge farmhouse style table and plenty of seating. You have all the kitchen facilities you will need including an electric oven and hob, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge freezer, microwave, toaster, i-pod speaker and dock etc. There is also a lockable out-house with an additional fridge freezer which can be used for storing bikes, diving equipment and so on.
The historic, seaside village and castle of Bamburgh is just a short drive and can also be reached on foot via a public footpath.* the castle is a truly magnificent sight and is illuminated at night making it look even more amazing. (* Please note, the footpath is NOT suitable for pushchairs).
* The house benefits from oil fired central heating keeping it cosy and warm all year round. For parents there is a travel cot available as well as a high chair.
* Up to 2 well behaved dogs are welcome to stay at The Granary.
* Bed linen, towels, hot water and heating are included as is an initial supply of logs. You will need to buy additional coal and/or logs locally.
There is ample parking for 2 or 3 cars in a private area, a large, lawned garden – for running around in (!) plus outdoor seating as there is a nice suntrap in the sheltered corner. In addition, there is a separate enclosed patio with a hard landscaped area and outdoor dining furniture.

Northern England region
The village of Bamburgh with its peaceful and tranquil setting is home to the Grace Darling Museum which commemorates the region's famous heroine, who rescued many sailors from the SS Forfarshire during a mighty storm in 1838.
Bamburgh has a range of shops, selling local produce,including the famous 'Bamburgh Banger' with a restaurant and pubs. The village has a playing field, cricket pitch, tennis court and play area on the village green where children can play safely. There are numerous activities to enjoy including fishing, sailing, windsurfing, diving, horse riding and golf, all nearby or just enjoy the quiet cottage garden with views over to the Cheviots and farm fields.
The historic town of Alnwick is only 10 miles away where you will find a thriving, historic market town with something a bit special! Even if you are not green fingered, a visit to Alnwick Gardens is a must, where you can stroll around the stunning gardens and waterfalls. Harry Potter fans of all ages should visit Alnwick Castle (or Hogwart's School) and relive some of the favourite scenes from the popular films.
