The County Cork region

Cork is Ireland's largest county and contains the second largest city. It is noted for it's rugged natural beauty with wonderful beaches, hills and mountains. It's home to the famous Blarney castle, the Jameson distillery, as well as an abundance of pubs and restaurants. Cobh, the last stop of the Titanic is also in County Cork.

Baltimore

Baltimore is located in west county Cork. It is the main ferry port to Sherkin and Cape Clear islands. The beacon, a large white stone structure standing guard imposingly over the town was originally built by the British after the 1798 rebellion.

There are many festivals in Baltimore every year, including the wooden boat festival, the fiddle fair, the seafood festival and Baltimore regatta to name but a few. Lots of information is available on the Baltimore web site: www.baltimore.ie.Tradiional music sessions are a regular occurence in the many pubs. There is a leisure centre nearby which you can use on a pay as you go basis, lovely pool, sauna and jacuuzzi.

"Brilliant, ideal location, all the comforts of home."

The owners were extremely accommodating. The house was perfectly located with beautiful views and a short easy walk into the village center. A good home base for day trips too. Overall, brilliant!

"Every need catered for."

Adams Island is in a lovely setting within easy walking distance of the center of Baltimore. The house is beautifully presented, spotless and has everything you need to be a real home from home. With 2 children of 4 and 14, the occasional rainy could have been a disaster, but the house provided books, games, drawing and peace for all! We all loved our stay and I would recommend Adams Island for anyone looking for a home to explore beautiful West Cork from.
