The County Galway/County Clare region

Ballyvaughan is located in the north of County Clare, a lovely county in Ireland, full of culture, history and beautiful scenery.

County Clare contains The Burren, a unique karst region, which contains beautiful and rare flowers and fauna, which are great to look at.

At the western edge of The Burren, facing the Atlantic Ocean, are the Cliffs of Moher. These make for a spectacular backdrop to the area and are perfect for going for long refreshing walks along them.

The highest point in County Clare is Moylussa, 532m, in the Slieve Bernagh range in the east of the county.

Visit county Clare and experience true Ireland, with many local pubs and restaurants that are full of charm and character.

"Great base for visiting area's sights and close to local amenities"

We stayed in Knocknagrough House for a week in July with two teenagers and two younger children and we found it to be a perfect base for visiting places of interest in Clare and Galway. It was spotlessly clean and the size of the bedrooms, along with the two ensuite bathrooms, helped keep the peace when all six of us were in the house together! One of the things we liked best about the house was the proximity to Ballyvaughan's shops and restaurants. It was great to be able to walk to buy milk or to have a meal in literally less than five minutes. All in all, we were delighted with Knocknagrough House and would recommend it to others. Thanks Rita!

It is encouraging that you enjoyed your stay at Knocknagrough House and I appreciate you taking time out to share your thoughts with others.

"Like home away from home."

Extremely well-mantained house and property - clean and very comfortable. All the amenities of home in a setting of breathtaking scenery. Walking distance to several pubs and a grocery store.
My wife and two adult children thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this property to anyone considering a holiday on the west coast of Ireland, as many attractions are within easy driving distance.
