The County Kerry region

County Kerry, is situated in the south-west of Ireland and is often referred to as the 'kingdom'. Kerry has much to be thankful for, its unspoilt beauty contrasting from mountainous terrain in the south to the flatlands of the north region giving access to some wonderful beaches. Kerry is well known for its sport be it gaelic football, golf, surfing, fishing, greyhound racing, horse racing we are fortunate to have it all here on our doorstep. In Kerry, we know how to enjoy life and have many festivals from sporting to literary festivals to help celebrate key events including the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, the Listowel Writer’s Week, Listowel Horse Racing, Ballylongford Oyster Festival to the Rose of Tralee.

Ballybunion area

Whilst you are here, why not . .

· Take a few hours and play on one or both of the Championship Links Golf courses. A favourite of Tom Watson and Bill Clinton and a challenge to any golfer. http://www.ballybuniongolfclub.ie/

· Walk to one of the 2 golden ‘blue flag’ beaches and have a swim, surf, play ball or just relax. Go for a stroll along the beach or along the cliff walk to view the Nun’s strand and the Virgin Rock or take a walk from the ladies beach all the way to the Cashen – wonderful but be careful of the tide!

· Take a seaweed bath at Collin's and let the oils and minerals revitalise your body and mind. This is located in the Ladies Beach.

· Go horse riding or fishing or take a visit to the local leisure centre. The leisure centre has a swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna and gym.

· Go to the Theatre. We have two theatre’s locally, An Tintean in Ballybunion and St. John's Theatre in nearby Listowel only 15km away.

Guestbook for 12 Glór na dTonn

"Lovely house, great resort, just sorry that we can't stay longer." B Daly, Cork - August 2009

"Fabulous house, I want to stay longer! We had a brilliant holiday. Will come back next year." J Leach, London - Aug 2009

"The house and Ballybunion are the most tremendous advert for Irish tourism. I found the house elegantly fitted and furnished, but most important of all, comfortable. The town is friendly, but also remote - in the sense of offering peace and quiet. All in all fantastic, thank you!" Jacqui Lofting, Cheshunt, Herts - October 2009
