"Excellent spacious accomodation wonderful value, warm friendly people no hesitation in recommending to others"
Travelled from Dublin Ireland into Palermo Airport. Was pleased that the apartment looked the same in reality as on the website. Stayed in the area, used public transport, did not rent a car. My husband myself and 2 teenage boys enjoyed the apartment and the area. Very close to beaches, shops restaurants. The owner Maurizio was very kind and welcoming we really appreciated it. We pre-booked a taxi with taxi company 'Sim sala Bim' to collect us from Palermo airport (20km from apartment). At €45 it was good value and the driver Alexandro was very helpful.

"Comfortable, clean and friendly"
The apartment is well equipped, clean and comfortable, especially the bed. We have been travelling for 8 months and have mostly found beds in Europe to be too hard. The apartment is approx 20min drive from Palermo airport and is in Balestrate, a small coastal village, and is well placed for exploring a good portion of the island of Sicily. Mt Etna is a 3 1/2 - 4 hour drive.

We had a fantastic time in the blue house. The appartment is spacious and very clean, in a quiet area but still really close to everything. Maurizio was really nice and we will definitely hope to be coming back again.

"A good base from which to explore Western Sicily"
The Blue House is ideally located to explore the West of Sicily, it is clean with the essentials needed for a relaxing break. A bottle of wine was waiting fr us on arrival and we sampled a local delicacy 'canooli' on our last night thanks to Maurizio and his family. All in all we had a brilliant week exploring many beaches and walking in the Zingara reserve. I would certainly return and recommend it to anyone.

"Fully equipped apartment in the beach area"
I would like to thank the owner of the house, Maurizio and his wife, for their nice appartment and warm welcome. We really liked the house, it absolutely matchs the photos on website. Even more=) Here you can find everything you need and what is more important in a very good condition. So you don't need to bother yourself to bring any stuff with you. In our appartment we could find international TV, wi-fi Internet, refrigerator, hairdryer, hangers for clothes, iron, washing machine, stove, dishes, bed linen and smth else...Very very nice. Even there was some food left from previous renters;))) Lol. Not much, but stuff like tea, salt, oil, wich is useful. In general I would say it's a perfect place for a family holidays. Enough space, quite location, owners never disturb and ready to help. However we were a company of young people, thus for us a place had few minuses. They are not about the apartment but more about location. There is a beach near the house, but the better one (the one we liked) is like 20-30 minutes walk=) There is no transport in this area, so you'd better have a car. Even to get to the Balestrate from airport was a challenge, thus I would recommend to use owners' proposal to meet you at the aiport. At least we used this opportunity on our way back home. Remember: there is almost NO public transport in this area;) Another minus for us was the size of the city. It's small, thus there is no good nightlife there. If you wanna party-you'd better go to Palermo or Siracuzi. But we were ok, since made frends with some nice local people who took us out on their cars. Use this opportunity and make friends with Sicilians, they are nice! Regarding the food, restaurants are great, everything is tasty and wine is endless;) All in all we enjoyed our time in Blue house and would recommend it to you. BTW, just may be my subjective opinion: Blue house seems to be one of the best and renovated houses in Balestrate;) So if you are looking for save place to lie on the beach and go out to eat sicilian food it's the right place to go.
