About the home

Plas Madog is a four bedroom house with open views of the countryside and is situated one mile form Wales's largest natural lake. Its ideally located for walking on nearby hills and mountains, and central for visiting the many attractions, activities and beauty spots of North and Mid Wales.

Plas Madog has 2 double and 2 single bedrooms, all fully carpeted and furnished with farmhouse pine. There is an upstairs bathroom and a downstairs shower room.

The large oak kitchen is well equipped with separate dining room and separate utility room. The lounge is fully carpeted and has a living flame gas fire and seating on 3, 2 and one seater sofas.

The sun room is furnished with wicker furniture. The Cellar has been converted to a playroom with a snooker table and a few toys & games.

There is a large enclosed garden with open views, a paved patio with garden furniture & barbecue and a large paved area to park 2 cars.

The old stone built wash-house provides secure storage for bicycles and drying area.

The North Wales / Snowdonia/Gwynedd region

Bala is situated on the border between North and Mid Wales and Glanllyn Lodge is centrally situated to visit the many attractions and actvities of both areas.

One of the 'great little trains' of Wales with its narrow guage rail runs the length of the lake from Llanuwchllyn to Bala. There are beautiful, unspoiled beaches, lakes and waterfalls all within a 45 minutes drive. Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales, is an hour away but the Arans, Arenigs and Berwyns are close by.

The Bala area

The small market town of Bala has one main tree lined street with small shops, restaurants & pubs. There is a leisure centre with swimming pool, a cinema and a watersports centre for tuition & hiring of canoes, sailboards and boats. One of the great little trains of Wales runs along the 4 mile length of Bala lake.

The well known national white water centre for rafting and canoeing is just 2 miles from the town. There is an interesting farm park called Ewephoria owned by a World Champion Sheepdog Trial winner. Other local activities include quad biking, go-carting, paint balling, ropeworks & ten-pin bowling.
