Historic stone built gatehouse lodge dating back to the 17th Century with all rooms on ground level. It has been sympatheticaly restored and extended and has acheived a 5 star tourist board grading. It comprises of one double, en-suite bedroom, one twin and one single bedroom, a large oak kitchen diner, a cosy lounge with leather sofas and an electic fire effect stove. The nearby private access to Bala lake is ideal for fishing, sailing and canoeing. There are plenty of walks on the nearby hills and mountains.

The North Wales / Snowdonia / Gwynedd region
Bala is situated on the border between North and Mid Wales and Glanllyn Lodge is centrally situated to visit the many attractions and actvities of both areas. One of the 'great little trains' of Wales with its narrow guage rail runs the length of the lake from Llanuwchllyn to Bala. There are beautiful, unspoiled beaches, lakes and waterfalls all within a 45 minutes drive. Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales, is an hour away but the Arans, Arenigs and Berwyns are close by.
Bala area
Bala lake or 'llyn Tegid' in Welsh is the largest natural lake in Wales and is 4.5 miles long and 0.75 miles wide. Sailing, windsurfing, canoeing and fishing is allowed on the lake. At the south west end of the lake lies the Aran mountain ranges and a little further south is the famous Cader Idris mountain. There are plenty of local walks to suit everyone. The small market town of Bala has one main tree lined street with lots of small shops restaurants, and pubs.
