About the home

Hysbysfa is a delightful stone-built detached cottage set in an idyllic and secluded location of approximately ½ an acre. Newly restored and completely refurbished, Hysbysfa has been tastefully extended to offer spacious and blissful retreat of style. There is a small stream running through the garden, which adds to the charm of this most peaceful setting (-toddlers beware-). Within walking distance of Bala Golf Club, the Lake Foreshore, Leisure Centre and Town.

Entrance to spacious sitting/dining room with electric radiant fire. Large dining table for up to 8. Books, maps and games. Rear hallway leading to kitchen and downstairs shower/utility room with washer/dryer. Stable door to rear garden. Open-tread stairs from sitting room to first floor. Bathroom. Master bedroom with sleigh bed, two further bed rooms, a twin room and a bunk room with full-width bunks. (In the twin room, the second bed is a hideaway under-bed, which forms either a 6’ queen-sized bed or 2 singles).

The property features central heating, electric induction hob, fan assisted oven, a microwave, a fridge/freezer, a washing machine, a steam iron & ironing board, a dishwasher, a cafetiere, 2 TV’s, a DVD, a video and a radio/cassette/CD player. Full bed linen is inclusive, though not cot linen. Tea towels are provided. Personal towels are provided for overseas guests only, or can be hired if required. Central heating is included in the rental. An initial supply of logs is provided, therefater available locally. The upstairs bathroom consists of bath tub, hand basin and WC. The downstairs utility/cloakroom has a WC, a Belfast sink with slate work top, and a tiled step-in shower. A travel cot, high chair, safety gate, socket covers and fireguard are provided. Please note that baby cot linen and sports towels are not provided.

The cottage is set in its own 1/2 acre of fenced and gated lawned and landscaped gardens. Approached from a private driveway, there is a barbecue, outdoor tables and chairs and ample parking for up to 3 cars. In the garden is a little barn sleeping 2 guests which is bookable only in conjunction with the cottage, contact us for more information.

Freshly made beds, pre-heated cottage and a Welcome Tray of tea, coffee and biscuits on arrival. Parking for several cars/ boats. Groups welcome, but sorry, no stag or hen parties.

Conditions

Cottage rental is payable by a 1/3 deposit with balances due 8 weeks before th holiday start date. Payment can be made by transfer, cheque or by card over the phone. There is no fee for Visa Debit cards, a 2% bank fee applies to Mastercard and Visa Credit.
A well-behaved dog is welcome at Hysbysfa, a fee applies.

The Bala / Cyffdy area

Bala is a small market town in the southern tip of the Snowdonia National Park. Famous as the home of Llyn Tegid, Bala lake, the largest natural lake in Wales and also for its abundance of adventure and outdoor activity provision. At the Lake a wide choice of activities are on offer, including windsurfing, sailing, and canoeing. Twice a year, triathlon events are held involving swimming across the lake. Bala sailing club on the opposite shore of the lake is one of the friendliest clubs welcoming newcomers and novices. The Bala lake narrow gauge steam railway runs along the quieter side of the lake, also a great route for cycling away from traffic.
Bala offers many professional activity organisations and enthusiasts which means that learners and dabblers are welcome to try a new adventure activity under the guidance of professionals. High Ropes, Paintballing, white water rafting, canyoning, off-road 4x4, pony trekking and bushcraft are among the treats on offer.
Situated between several of the top mountain biking centres in Wales, access to Coed Y Brenin, Penmachno, and Llandegla is easy.
For walkers and lovers of the countryside, look no further. Access to Snowdon takes under an hour in the most scenic and dramatic landscape, Betws Y coed is only 30 minutes away, visit the centre for Alternative Technology, King Arthurs Labyrinth, lakes and castles galore and the coastal seaside town of Barmouth is only 40 minutes drive away.
