This elegant seventeenth century detached stone cottage has been tastefully renovated to a high standard and is fully detached within its own grounds. Containing lawn front and back and surrounded by many established and attractive trees while being situated within a conservation area in the village, the house also features a small stream at the bottom of the front garden.
The accommodation is spacious and full of character suitable for up to 4 people in comfort, with extra bedding options available and many amenities provided. The old part of the house retains its ancient wooden beams and the modern part is full of light and sense of space.
There is a slate patio and terrace encircling the house offering sun for most of the day in the summer with the provision of garden furniture and BBQ if required.
The open plan kitchen is well equipped and with plenty of storage space. There are 2 lounges and the snug lounge now contains an Aga woodburner.

The cottage has one spacious master bedroom with ancient wooded beams and sink, a cosy, beamed sitting room (with AGA wood burner and flat screen TV/DVD player) with comfortable large sized bed settee that can be used as a separate bedroom if required. It also has a mezzanine seating and/or sleeping area containing a comfortable double futon, a bathroom with shower over the bath and spacious kitchen-lounge-diner with dishwasher, cooker washing machine and microwave. This main living area is full of light and space with a small box room adjacent containing a bed suitable for a child .
The cottage contains numerous books for general reading as well as lots of tourist information and walking books.

There is ample parking space and the views of Foel Goch are superb. There is space in the shed at the back of the house for bikes.

There is flexibility - the cottage can take up to six people in comfort. We reserve the right to vary our charges especially in a situation where there is over - occupancy. One dog considered on request.

The North Wales / Snowdonia/Gwynedd region
There are numerous places to visit further afield and the cottage is well situated for lakes, mountains and seaside. Snowdon itself is less than 30 minutes away by car and the coastal resorts of Llandudno, Conwy and Anglesey are also within easy access. There are many possibilities for nature lovers including walking, cycling, sight- seeing, bird watching and fishing.
Llangollen with its steam railway and horse drawn canal rides is thirty minutes drive as are Ruthin, with its award winning craft centre, historic Gaol, and Denbigh with its castle and farmers market. Bodnant Gardens are within easy reach as are numerous other historic sites.
The Bala area
The village is situated on the southern perimeter of the Snowdonia National Park in a conservation area surrounded by wonderful scenery with a stream just outside the cottage.
Bala is a short drive away with numerous attractions especially in the way of water sports on the lake as well as the National Whitewater Rafting Centre. There is fine dining at the Tyn Llan Hotel and Restaurant at Llandrillo.
Go Karting is 3 miles away at nearby Glan-Y-Gors
The newly reopened Crown at The Crown Inn at Llanfihangel Glyn Myfyris is now serving food at a scenic location by the river Alwen
Rhug chapel and estate with its organic farm and prize winning shop are a few minutes away by car.

We were so delighted with our choice in accomodation for our family holiday. The house was just great; spacious, bright and clean, with everything you could need. The area was truly beautiful, surrounded by hills, wildlife of all types and very friendly local folk. We definately will to return to Ty Uchaf in the near future hopefully with friends to share the experience. |
