About the home
Cysgod Bach is situated in the sleepy village of Llanfor, just one mile out of the town of Bala within the Snowdonia National Park in Wales. We are ideally situated for an activity break or for touring the National Park. Bala is steeped in Welsh history and culture and you will be sure to hear some Welsh spoken if you come to stay with us! We also run a B&B with room for 4 guests so we can accommodate a larger party.
We pride ourselves on giving a warm Welsh Croeso/Welcome. Our aim is for you to have a wonderful holiday here in Wales. You will be well looked after as all needs can be met from drying soggy clothes to finding information on the internet, booking activities or advising on days out. We hope for happy guests who will want to come again. Contact me if you wish to clarify any details before booking. I can organise flowers, cards, or even a starter pack of food for that first night's stay.

PRICE -The charge for Cysgod Bach is on a self catering basis but includes all services, linen & towels.
OCCUPANCY - The number of persons must not exceed 2.
CHARGES - A deposit of £50.00 is required upon booking. Payable by cheque, cash or 'Paypal'
Balance of charges are payable 6-weeks before the holiday start date.
CANCELLATION - The deposit and prior payments are refundable if we are able to re-let the accommodation.
PERIOD OF HIRE Rental commences in the afternoon at 16.00 on the day of arrival and ends at 10.00 on the morning of departure.

The Snowdonia National Park is the largest National Park in Wales and covers 823 square miles of mountain and lakes. Bala is set at the gateway to Snowdonia and here we have the largest natural lake in Wales. We also have a large Welsh speaking population and you will be sure to taste the culture here. If you wish to explore a little further into the park you will find find beaches, nature reserves, bird sanctuaries, gardens, castles, mines, museums, visitor centres, and several steam railways. Snowdonia is also great for adventure and we have a high concentration of opportunities for outdoor activities - within a few minutes you can enjoy watersports on Llyn Tegid, White Water Rafting at the National Whitewater Cenre, Fish, Cycle, Play Golf, Walk and do off road driving to name just a few.

Cysgod Bach cottage is set in beautiful surroundings within walking distance of Bala town. It is an ideal location for a peaceful break, a base for touring the Snowdonia National Park or for activities such as cycling, walking, fishing, canoeing and white water rafting.

Directions By Car:
Travel along the A494 from the direction of Corwen. Llanfor is situated just one mile out of the town of Bala. Turn right into the Village of Llanfor. Follow the road for 100 yards around past the Church on your right. Cysgod y Coed B&B is the stone-built house on your left hand side - Cysgod Bach Cottage for 2 is just next door.

We were extremely lucky that we managed to get a cancellation and stay with Mel at the Cysgod Bach Cottage. Mel gave us a warm welcome and has a great knowledge of the surrounding area and all of the activities the Snowdonia area has to offer. The accomodation is perfect for a couple with a spacious, clean and comfortable living area. The highlight for us was being able to eat our breakfast on the decking in the cottages secluded garden. We didn't get chance to make use of the hot tub but as we endeavour to return I'm hoping we will do soon. |

My partner and i wanted the perfect place for a relaxing weekend and Cysgod y Coed cottage delivered on all our hopes and expectations.We were made to feel very welcome by Mel and she was very helpful with any questions we had before our arrival and whilst we were there.The cottage is beautiful,modern and comfortable.The oven was great as was the television and a very powerful shower.We were very lucky with the weather so we took advantage of the lovely private garden at the back of the cottage.We reluctantly left at the end of our break feeling completley chilled out and vowing to return.Perfect. |

"Fantastic stay and a lovely cottage"
I stayed at Cysgod Bach over the New Year period and had a perfect short break in a lovely cottage, extremely modern and very relaxing accomodation and we appreciated the facilities - surround sound, dvd collection etc that you wouldn't get in most cottages. The owner, Mel was very helful and welcomed us - we kept ourselves to ourselves though we know that she would have done anything to make us feel comnfortable during our stay and we appreciated her hospitality. Bala is lovely and we had some great meals in the pubs down the road. Overall we were extremely happy with our stay and will certainly come back in the future. Thanks!

"Really nice accomodation in a quiet village location."
Great to come back to and unwind with all mod cons and everything good quality, especially sofa, TV, bed and shower. We found the walk to and from Bala only a little over ten minutes - pavement all the way. Mel and Mick are very welcoming. Would highly recommend.

"A beautiful setting, fantastic accommodation"
The accommodation was superb, newly finished to a high standard, spacious, beautifully clean. We had a weekend break and found it very relaxing. Mel was on hand to advise of places to go.
