About the home

The owners Gareth and Sioned live in the farmhouse, which is close to the cottages, and are more than happy to help and advise when needed. When you arrive at the cottages we welcome you personally and give you a guided tour of the property!! As this is a new small family business we really care about making your holiday perfect in every way and that you will find it hard to stay away after you’ve discovered Bythynnod Bryn Caled Cottages!!

It's nearly Spring.......Snowdonia National Park in the Spring ....you can’t beat that one!

Come and relax in style…..country walks right from your cottage door, beach walks just 20 minutes drive away .......private hot tub ..... just step out of the door!!

The North Wales / Snowdonia/Gwynedd region

Best known for the stunning Snowdonia National Park, this region of Wales is the ideal destination for families or couples in search of a walking holiday either in the mountains or by the sea – from the dramatic peaks, lakes and waterfalls of the National Park to the fine sandy beaches of Abersoch and Colwyn Bay. History lovers can visit the magnificent castles of Caernafon, Criccieth, Conwy and many more, and young and old alike will love a trip on the Welsh Highland Railway. Also worth a visit is the pretty clifftop village of Portmeirion in Gwynedd.

The Bala / Llanuwchllyn area

LLANUWCHLLYN & BALA Bythynnod Bryn Caled are located in a stunning location overlooking the picturesque village of Llanuwchllyn and the Aran mountain. Llanuwchllyn is a mile away and a lovely walk along the public footpath along the river Lliw. In the village a visit to the Eagles Inn is a must for excellent home made food and a cold beer - the traditional Welsh Sunday lunch is a treat not to be missed. As this area is a walkers paradise you may wish to go for a long leisurely walks along the public footpaths from the village or even hop on the little steam train from the village to the town of Bala.

The bustling market town of Bala lies within the beautiful Snowdonia National Park and is located at the head of Llyn Tegid, Bala’s famous lake, which is the largest natural lake in Wales and home to a unique fish called the Gwyniaid

The town of Bala is about 10 minutes drive away and has a number of good quality restaurants and pubs. Bala is a small town but has a lot to offer any visitors. Bala is also within travelling distance of some great shopping and historical towns such as Chester, Ruthin, Llangollen and Porthmadog Bala.

There is a Golf at 5.6 miles away in Bala.

“Fabulous accommodation, friendly hosts & stunning views” We stayed in Tyddyn Lliw for 5 nights and the accommodation was stunning. The views are amazing and it was just great for our nearly 3 year old twins, who loved seeing the sheep & horses on a daily basis and playing in the enclosed park. Bryn Caled Cottages are in a great location for travelling about and seeing Wales. This was our first visit and we will certainly be coming back - unfortunately for us it will be in 2014 as we get married next year so already have holiday plans but certainly look forward to great hospitality and another wonderful holiday in Wales. See you again soon!!

“Brilliant!!!!!!!” Went away in a group of 14 adults, we rented all the accomodation. We were all blown away by the high standard, the setting and most of all Sioned and her family. Nothing was too much trouble. We arranged for a meal, cooked by Sioned, which was delicious. The accomodation was first class and we took advantage of the hot tub. We are looking forward to returning to what we called our little piece of heaven.

“outstanding!!!!!” We booked a long weekend very last minute and from the inital email contact to the time we left we cannot fault the whole experience. Booking confirmation came with a very comprehensive attachment suggesting restaurants with contact details, ideal if just staying away for a weekend as often good places are fully booked sat eve/sun lunch and this gave us the opportunity to pre-book. The owners also offer a home cooked menu delivered to your door or waiting in the slow cooker, we didnt partake but if we had stayed longer we probably would have. Directions are concise so we had no problems finding the property, our excitement building as we drove further into the stunning Welsh countryside. The veiws from the property are amazing, truly breathtaking, even on a cloudy, supposedly grey day the scenery is beautiful. There are plenty of walks in the surrounding area, we climbed The Aran as far as the low cloud would allow and the view back down the ridge and towards Bala Lake was awe inspiring. The cottages themselves are very clean with every detail thought of, cling film in the draw, home made cake on arrival, milk in the fridge, dental set should you have forgotten your toothbrush! This break was all about time on our own without kids and the cottage was perfect for a couple, however, as we do have children, we could see that it would be the perfect place to bring them should we want too. Stair gates, high chair, games, outside play area, all fenced in, every detail for adults and children has been thought of. (hot tub!!) Usually holiday lets dont accomodate both so well but here they have thought of everything, and if they havent they would soon put it right! Nothing was too much trouble, no gas for cooking saturday morning was sorted within 2 mins, even rescuing us in the village when we were having diffuculty finding the start of a very obvious footpath! We cannot praise the owners enough, the very smiley welcome, the cleanliness, attention to detail and feeling that nothing was too much trouble means these cottages, and their owners, are very special and we encourage people to book and experience them for themselves, defiantly a 10/10!!
