The North Wales region

North Wales abounds in attractions, activities and natural splendour. Snowdonia extends up to Bala, which is only 6 miles away. The coast has plenty of beaches, cliff walks and boat trips, whereas inland there are loads of walks, castles and scenery. The cottage is situated right in the middle with easy access to Betws-y-Coed, Dolgellau, Harlech and other towns in the region.

Bala

The cottage is located only 20 minutes from Llangollen which hosts the annual International Music Eisteddfod, has canal barge and steam train attractions and the ruined abbey of Valle Crucis. Nearby there are the historic houses of Erddig and Plas Newydd. To the west lies Bala with its famous lake, the largest natural lake in Wales. It too has a steam train which passes down the length of the lake, and also the white water rafting resort at Tryweryn. Near the cottage there is the Glass Blobbery, where you can watch David Jones making beautiful objects in glass, and Caerau Uchaf, a private garden that's open to the public.
