Our cottage has lots of the traditional features of an old style cottage along with all modern conveniences.The kitchen boasts a natural stone flagged floor with a range style cooker in a limestone inglenook fireplace and beamed ceiling. The unusually shaped lounge features the original gritstone fireplace with a multi fuel log burner, exposed limestone wall and beamed ceiling.

The cottage has a gated driveway for off road parking and a courtyard style garden to the front. From the drive you go through the front door into a small inner porch where you can hang coats etc, from the porch you go into the farmhouse style kitchen/dining room which features include a stone flagged floor beamed ceiling, a Belfast sink, a limestone inglenook fireplace housing a dual fuel range cooker, a pine dining table and 4 chairs and a pine sideboard with local information and leaflets from the tourist information centre about local events and attractions.
Off the kitchen is a utility room which has the central heating boiler, a stainless steel sink, fridge freezer, dishwasher and washing machine and ironing board, also there is a breadmaker, from the utility a door leads to a very small yard. From the kitchen area you step down into the unusually shaped cosy lounge which features beamed ceiling, an exposed limestone wall, a large gritstone fireplace housing a cast iron multi fuel log burner. There are also 2 comfortable leather settees a flat screen tv with digital freeview channels and a built in dvd/cd payer, displayed in the bookcase are a variety of books of local interest and other paperbacks , there is a small collection of boardgames, cd,s and dvd,s at the cottage.
From the dining area you go upstairs onto a landing with pine washstand and lamp, off which is the master bedroom with original exposed wooden floor boards and limestone fireplace and icludes pine double bed and matching bedside tables ,an old pine freestanding wardrobe and chest of draws and a mirror, with views up the village from the window.
Off the landing down 2 steps is the second bedroom which also features the exposed pine floor boards and has twin single beds, a bedside table, fitted wardrobe with plenty of storage space, a pine dressing table with mirror and again views up the village. Again off the landing is the bathroom with shower over bath white wash basin an wc, and chrome heated towel rail. All towels and bedlinen are provided.

Outside there is a gated driveway and a courtyard style garden to the front of cottage with seating, a small pot bellied barbecue and raised flower beds with traditional cottage flowers and plants. On the other side of drive is a large secure stone outbuilding with electricity, lighting and water which can be used for drying/ storing outdoor clothing, storage of bikes etc.

The Peak District is renowned for its natural beauty and Taddington village ( the second highest village in England) lies more or less in the middle of the park. The village is a traditional quiet derbyshire limestone village which has 2 friendly pubs that serve good food and a small shop. There are lots of walks straight from the front door and is a good cycling area for all levels of cyclists.
The Bakewell / Taddington area
Nearby there is the market town of Bakewell famous for its bakewell pudding, and has a livestock market every Monday, and Buxton spa town, the highest town in England is famous for its spring water . The world famous Chatsworth house and gardens are less than 20 mins away and Haddon Hall both of which have enormous historical value and interest.Other villages to visit include Casleton famous for its caverns and the precious stone" Blue John" , Eyam known as the plague village and Tideswell known for its "Cathedral in the peak " to name but a few.
