"Beautiful cottage and location, well equipped ... minor niggles"

Very well equipped, especially the kitchen - even down to the picnic kit as mentioned in previous reviews! 2 minutes walk to the town makes this a convenient location although any prospective elderly/… More

"Well-equipped, character cottage 2 minutes walk from the village centre"

Had a lovely stay at this bijou cottage in Bakewell which is dog-friendly (one well-behaved dog). Very cosey, thoughtfully well-equipped house even down to a picnic hamper and games for a rainy day.… More

Thank you for your kind words and we are delighted you enjoyed your stay and look forward to welcoming you back. For next time, a good WiFi service is available at the cottage via BT WiFi, so free to BT customers or at a charge for non-BT customers. Best wishes

"A little sanctuary"

On arrival in Bakewell we already knew that we would have a lovely time as the feel of the place was very sweet and relaxing. Directions to the cottage were perfect and after we had unloaded we settled in no time. This was due in large part to the lovely interior of the cottage. Everything was very clean and home from home. Information was plentiful and we felt sad that we couldn't stay longer to see and do the things we missed.

Aside from the lovely cottage which was a great place to switch off on it's own, there is plenty to do without venturing far. The children thought it was 'cool' and 'fun' and would both love to go back there - as would I!

"A beautiful cottage in a beautiful town"

My husband an I stayed at Gingerbread cottage for a weekend break, and I can honestly say that it is one of the most restful weekends we have had. The cottage is warm, very cosy and beautifully decorated thoughout.
A welcome tray was waiting for us on arrival, which was much appreciated.
The cottage is a stones throw from the centre of the picturesque town of Bakewell. There are many places to eat and drink, from coffee shops to hotels. All very reasonably priced.
The surrounding area is home to some of the most beautiful countryside, with plenty of places to walk, cycle and picnic.
It is worth visiting Chatsworth House, only about 10 minutes from Bakewell.
