1 Club Cottages is a traditional Derbyshire stone cottage, built in the 19th century. Some parts may go back to the previous century. The name of the cottage derives from a Shepherds Club that bought the cottage and then built the neighbouring two houses for members.

The cottage has two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with twin single beds. The bathroom is on the ground floor. It can comfortably accommodate either four adults, or else a family of four. Sometimes more people have stayed in the cottage but its a tight fit! There is a travel cot.

We have furnished the cottage comfortably, but simply. It has a Satellite TV and DVD player, also a small TV and video player upstairs. We also have an assortment of films. The house is heated by storage heaters and a solid fuel fire.

The kitchen has a dishwasher, a washing machine, freezer and fridge.

The Heart of England/Peak District

Our Cottage is in a village about 10 miles from Bakewell in the heart of the White Peak Area. It is close to the Tissington Trail which is a disused railway line great for walking or cycling. It also gives access to the High Peak Trail and we're a short car journey away from the Monsal and Manifold valley trails. There is a bus service to Buxton but a car is essential in this area.

There is a small grocery store in Hartington, a couple of very good pubs and a Youth Hostel which serves great beer and food.
