All very well-equipped with fitted kitchen (fan oven, hob, microwave, fridge), open plan sitting/dining/kitchen with
FreeSat TV/DVD, 1 or 2 bathrooms with bath and shower over or walk-in shower.

Bedrooms are very well-equipped with comfortable double or twin beds plus warm, cosy duvets, fluffy pillows and cotton sheets. All double mattresses are luxury pocket sprung. Some with room for additional folding bed. Space in each cottage for a cot,

All have plenty of lighting, bedside tables, mirrors and plug sockets (for your essential appliances!)

Several cottages are all on the ground level making them ideal for those who find stairs challenging. A couple are set up for wheelchair users, with a gentle slope to the front door and low level switches. Most cottages have stairs, so please check if you have particular requirements.

We have high chairs and cots on request, subject to availability at time of booking.

The Peak District is in heart of England, It offers all year round activities and events for people of every age. For lovers of the outdoors, there are around 1,600 miles of footpaths across stunning scenery. Discover limestone dales full of rare wild flowers, stroll along trout filled rivers or watch skylarks soaring above heather clad moors. Walking, bird watching, caving, rock climbing, potholing, fishing, sailing, gliding and cycling are just some of the activities available.

For those interested in history, there are a number of stately homes to visit such as Chatsworth, Haddon Hall and Eyam Hall, all of which offer a range of cultural activities throughout the year.
Visit the prehistoric sites of Arbor Low and Cresswell Crags, step back in time at The National Tramway Museum or take a ride on a steam train at Peak Rail. Discover the Norman castle and stunning caves in Castlelton, iron age settlements above Hathersage and the area's lead mining and industrial heritage sites.

The local towns of Bakewell, Buxton and Matlock Bath, each famous in its own right, offer culture, shopping, restaurants and traditional markets and if you still have energy, there is always the famous theme park of Alton Towers!

The Bakewell area

Just outside Bakewell in the heart of the Derbyshire Peak District.

Ideally located for access to all the major Peak District attractions from stately homes (such as Chatsworth and Haddon Hall) to picturesque towns and villages (Buxton, Bakewell, Matlock, Ashbourne) from energetic activities (walking, climbing, cycling, horse riding) to fantastic scenery (Monsal Head, Dovedale, Castleton, etc).

The Peak District has something for everyone. Alton Towers is only about 30-40 minutes away. Carsington Water offers sailing, windsurfing, canoing and other watersports as well as mountain biking.
