The Heart of England / Peak District / Peak District/Derbyshire region
The Peak District is in heart of England, It offers all year round activities and events for people of every age. For lovers of the outdoors, there are around 1,600 miles of footpaths across stunning scenery. Discover limestone dales full of rare wild flowers, stroll along trout filled rivers or watch skylarks soaring above heather clad moors. Walking, bird watching, caving, rock climbing, potholing, fishing, sailing, gliding and cycling are just some of the activities available.
For those interested in history, there are a number of stately homes to visit such as Chatsworth, Haddon Hall and Eyam Hall, all of which offer a range of cultural activities throughout the year.
Visit the prehistoric sites of Arbor Low and Cresswell Crags, step back in time at The National Tramway Museum or take a ride on a steam train at Peak Rail. Discover the Norman castle and stunning caves in Castlelton, iron age settlements above Hathersage and the area's lead mining and industrial heritage sites.
The local towns of Bakewell, Buxton and Matlock Bath, each famous in its own right, offer culture, shopping, restaurants and traditional markets and if you still have energy, there is always the famous theme park of Alton Towers!
The Bakewell area
Just outside Bakewell in the heart of the Derbyshire Peak District.
Ideally located for access to all the major Peak District attractions from stately homes (such as Chatsworth and Haddon Hall) to picturesque towns and villages (Buxton, Bakewell, Matlock, Ashbourne) from energetic activities (walking, climbing, cycling, horse riding) to fantastic scenery (Monsal Head, Dovedale, Castleton, etc).
The Peak District has something for everyone. Alton Towers is only about 30-40 minutes away. Carsington Water offers sailing, windsurfing, canoing and other watersports as well as mountain biking.

Prices for up to 20 people for 7 nights from Fridays. Deposit 25% (40% for multiple cottages), balance due 2 calendar months before arrival date. Credit/debit cards and Bank transfers welcome (1.5% fee for credit cards).
NB - Christmas and New Year breaks from Monday 23rd/30th December 2013, Monday 22nd/29th December 2014.

Some cottages have space for 1 person in a folding bed in twin room (£35 for short break, £55 for full week) or double sofa-bed (£55 for short break, £75 for full week).
All our cottages have a fully-equipped fitted kitchen with fan oven, hob, microwave and fridge. Most have dishwashers and fridge-freezers*. All have bathrooms with bath and shower or separate shower room.
We provide a welcome pack with an initial supply of basic cleaning items plus tea/coffee/milk/biscuits to get you started. Also linen, hyperallergenic duvets and pillows, complimentary toiletries, hairdrier, clock-radio, colour flat screen TV with FreeSat and DVD player, free wifi (in Leisure Centre), washer and drier (in Laundry).
