“Fantastic holiday” We spent 3 weeks in the stables gite in August and had a fantastic time. The gite and complex exceeded our expectations, the pictures on the web sites do not do it justice. It was a large, spacious, comfortable gite overlooking the pool so children can easily be supervised, but with a private back terrace. It was only a 5 minute walk to both the supermarket and the small village where there were 2 bread shops a butchers, a market twice a week selling fresh produce, 2 eating places and 2 cafe bars. The owners were friendly and on hand to answer questions, give advice about the area. our son had a great time with the other children who were there and we have already booked to go back next year. “Fantastic place to stay during our holiday!” Nice cottages, beautiful and peaceful surroundings and very friendly hosts. The property is very suitable for children and they loved the chickens and the horses. We also loved the supermarket located 200 meters from the cottages. “Best of rural france” This house is one of three holiday rentals in the grounds of an old french manor house. It is in a rural setting adjoining a cycle/bridle path, but is only a few minutes walk from the village. The owers live on site and gave us a very warm welcome and were available whenever needed. The swimming pool was very popular with our children. A car is essential to see the locality - we hired one at La Rochelle airport. We had a lovely relaxing time there, and would love to return. “Excellent modern comfort in the perfect rural setting.” We stayed for a week and had a wonderful time. Baignes is perfectly located to tour the Cognac region. The accommodation is a lovely semi-detached property with an open plan ground floor and two generous bedrooms upstairs. The property backs onto the network of cycle track that crisscrosses the region so do take up the bike hire on offer. Farmland, sunflowers and vineyards surround you as you while away the hours on traffic-free byways. The swimming pool is a definite selling point however it was not heated and was a little chilly for our 15month old, not that he noticed. The Andertons were always helpful when needed and managed to remain unobtrusive for the whole time we were there. Response: Thanks for that. I hope to see you again in the future.
