About the home

Set in a prominent position,this magnificient 17th century villa is furnished with high quality taste and style.It is situated above the medieval town of Bagnone in Lunigiana (Tuscany).

Recently it was restored,decorated and furnished to a very high standard.It is spread over three levels linked by a central staircase with stone steps,brick vaulted ceilings and terracotta floors.A double door leads to a very spacious and warm dining room and a large and comfortable lounge.The kitchen was restored echoing a Tuscan style sense of history.

The house has been designed to cater for a large family,a group of friends and comprises five double bedrooms and four bathrooms(of which two have showers,one with shower and bath tub,one with only WC).On the ground level there is access to a very spacious and attractive walled courtyard with private gardens and newly installed swimming pool which overlooks a beautiful vineyard,chestnut valleys and during sunset the scenery is outstanding.

The villa is situated amongst a very green and beautiful valley with outstanding scenery.Ideal for a relaxing and peaceful stay.The swimming pool area is an ideal place for entertaining and relaxing time.Ideal for excursion and sightseeng walking surrounded by vineyards,chestnut woods and olive trees.Many local "trattories" are in the vicinity where one can enjoy good Italian meals drinking local excellent wines.The prices are very reasonable and the quality is good.

The Tuscany / Massa Carrara Province region

The climate in Tuscany is typically mediterranean ie.sunny summers ,warm autumms,and wet winters.The Tuscany region offers a variety of interests which go from cities full of art to those full of fun,from areas with beautiful landscapes and vallyes to areas with beautiful blue water sea and sandy beaches.In other words Tuscany offers entertainament for all types.The beauty of this region is that all places of interest(may it be a cultural city or a seaside resort) are within half an hours drive by car.

The Bagnone / Pagazzana area

The town of Bagnone is approx.5 minutes drive from the villa and offers all facilities such as supermarkets,trattories and bars,pharmacy,sightseen and monuments such as the famous castle.It is 20 minutes away from the A15 Parma La Spezia Highway.During the summer months especially in August there are a number of festivals which take place in the nearby towns and the one of Filetto is world reknown.There are tennis courts in the nearby Villafranca (10 minutes drive) and golf course approx.30 minutes drive.The Cinque Terre (Five Lands) are only 45 minutes away from the villa,and Lerici is only 30 minutes away.

“Wonderfull” We spent three wonderfull, unforgettable weeks in this house. You will of course enjoy the pool, the many rooms and the confort of the house, but most of all you will appreciate the ancient furnitures, the garden and the patio, and all around the mountains... We will come back !!! And we want to thank Maurizio and Alessandro for their kindness and assistance during these holidays. Tibo

“Beautiful Hilltop Views” This is a very large, old histroric house up above the town of Bagnone, Exceelent wines are available from the family living next door. they were very friendly and welcoming on arrival showing throughout the house. The house is a perfect hideaway with the coast accessible within 30 minutes if you wish to Lerici, we also visited Portofino and Cinque Terre but it was a fairly long drive. Whilst we were staying here someone the Euro Lottery nearly EURO150,000,000!! One day it was a quiet sleepy town, the next a media circus had arrived. This house is for those people looking for the "REAL ITALY" hopefully one day we will all return there. the house is filled with many antiques. The pool is lovely & cooling on a summers day. the greatest thing about this house is waking up to see the distant views . Be warned though if you don' t like listening to dogs barking occasionally.
