The bedroom -- with shower en suite -- has two pairs of French door style entrances, it's own patio area and is completely private and separate, albeit located, within the main house.
La Petite Sojourn has cool tiled floors and a fully fitted kitchen, satellite television, comfortable lounge area and private covered BBQ area and patio. Enough crockery and cutlery to make sure you dine in style. Very secluded aspect. Satellite television with some English channels (BBC etc).

Table tennis, darts, boules and other games.
At the rear of the gite in its own private covered patio area, is a built-in barbecue, table, chairs and sitting area.
Of course the rest of the garden is yours to explore and use at your leisure, leaving time of course to cool off in the 9 x 5m filtered and chlorinated swimming pool ... surrounded by sun terraces: a natural "sun-trap" all day long!
The pool and pond areas are fenced and gated and the pool is fitted with a pool alarm that complies with regulations. Please bring your own towels for use by the pool and at the seaside.
Lovely views and stunning sunsets!
Steve and Fay Young will be on hand to welcome you and will be resident in the main house within the gated area for some or all of your stay.
We believe La Petite Sojourn is unsuitable for teenagers or young adults as it is set in a quiet, rural area. Young children (up to age 12) are very welcome although there is no grassed area for ball games etc.
Suitable for adults wishing to relax and enjoy long summer days and evenings in an "away-from-it-all" stress free setting.
About this location
The Poitou-Charentes region
The Deux Sevres is officially the second sunniest area in France after the Cote d'Azure ... but closer to the Channel coast!
From this area there is easy access to the fantastic Atlantic port of La Rochelle with its fabulous harbour surrounded by many excellent sea food restaurants, great shopping and Aquarium. The Ile de Re is also well worth a visit for beautiful unspoilt beaches and the chic and fashionable harbour towns of St Martin and La Flotte.
Visit the Marais Poitevin for lovely scenery and a gentle day of punting on the many canals.
Poitiers for historic and artistic interest, boutiques and the famous theme park for the moving image - Futuroscope.
There is a fantastic local market at Niort on Saturday morning which can be followed by lunch in one of the many restaurants and a visit to the Donjon or walk along the beautiful river.
Famous for Pineau des Charentes, the delightful aperitif; tastings are available at the many local producers.
The lovely town of Cognac is just under an hour away for an interesting day out and a tour around one of the many distilleries.
The Tumulus de Bourgon, 2000 years older than the Pyramids in Egypt, and its Neolithic Museum is just a few miles away.
Closer to home, Bagnault is a beautiful medieval village steeped in history, on the famous pilgrim route to Santiago De Compestello in Spain and guarded by the Knights Templar in medieval times.
Bagnault is also at the centre of the Route du Chabichou - a gastronomique route of 200 km devoted to goats cheese dairies, organic farms and producers.
There are countless walks and cycle tracks with a wealth of wildlife and nature to explore.
The area is delightful and well worth exploring. Bagnault and it's neighbouring village Exoudun has been awarded the status of "cite de caractere en Poitou-Charentes" only given to the most picturesque villages in the region.
La Mothe St Heray, 4km away, is a lovely town with a weekly market and many shops, bars and restaurants.

Excellent guests too!! Yes, we have flies in August but they are pretty much gone by the end of the month and are nowhere to be seen in the earlier summer months. Also on the plus side, we don't have mosquitoes here at all ... and having stayed farther south in the Dordogne and Gironde regions before now we are very grateful for that!

"Great little haven. Peaceful and excellant"
Booked this as a freind recommended it and i was not disappointed. La Petite Sojourn is a beautiful converted barnhouse in a small French village. Its a well maintained and looked after property. lots to do around place. The kids enjoyed the darts and table tennis table and days where spent lazing around the pool. Handy for local towns for shopping and all you need to cook is available in the kitchen. Nice big bed and twin beds in the bedroom suits any 2+2 family. we are looking at booking this years hol and will seriously be considering La Petite Sojourn. Thanks Steve and Faye for a lovely little find in deppest france
