After a day out on the coast, visiting one of the many historic houses nearby or browsing in the antique, arts and gift shops of Holt, you can return here for an evening of relaxation by the woodburning stove with the TV, a DVD, a good book and a bottle of wine. The East Anglia region

North Norfolk offers an unrivalled wealth of unspoilt rolling countryside, with great beaches and a host of activities to appeal to all tastes and all age groups. Just a few of these are walking, cycling, birdwatching and sailing - both coastal and on the Norfolk Broads. There are traditional seaside holiday villages and towns, together with the greatest concentration of historic houses in England to visit and enjoy.

Aylsham

Our lovely spacious traditional Norfolk flint, brick and pantile detached cottage dates from the mid 19th century and is located in the charming and historic rural village of Erpingham. The village gives its name to the adjoining Hundred (a group of parishes), held by the family of the distinguished knight Sir Thomas Erpingham (c.1355-1428), commander of King Henry V's archers at the Battle of Agincourt. It is close to the Wolterton and Mannington Estate, encompassing the private stately homes of the Walpole family, and nearby to Blickling (3.7 miles away) with its spectacular Jacobean house, gardens and estate as well as the superb 17th century Felbrigg Hall (9 miles away), both of which are owned by the National Trust. This area is renowned for its unspoilt rural nature, with many lovely and interesting walks in the surrounding countryside. The Weaver's Way passes through the village. Flint Cottage is within easy reach of the outstanding north Norfolk coast, with spectacular beaches, bird watching on the marshes, beautiful seaside towns and villages - and, of course - wonderful seafood such as Cromer crab ! The Norfolk Broads and the historic city of Norwich (16.5 miles away) are also easily accessible to add even more variety to your holiday.
