The Famagusta District
The Famagusta district is home to the best beaches on the island of Cyprus. Between Ayia Napa and Ayia Thekla there are dozens of glorious sandy beaches both large and small. The best of them all, Nissi Beach, is literally a couple of hundred yards from your front door.
Protaras is a 10 minute taxi ride away where you can visit the fabulous Fig Tree Bay. For a more peaceful excursion, travel 10 minutes in the opposite direction and relax in one of the beautiful fish restaurants at Potamos Harbour.
Ayia Napa / Nissi Beach area
Ayia Napa is located on the South Eastern tip of the perfectly formed Cyprus Island. It is perhaps best known all over Europe as a famous tourist resort and is one of Cyprus's most popular beach resorts.
The beaches are some of the best in the island: thin and fine sand, hidden among a chain of rocky boulders that form many small and cosy bays. The main centre of the district is Paralimni, 3 miles north of Ayia Napa itself. East of the village is Protaras, known for its lively nightlife and partyful people.
The coastline around Ayia Napa attracts large numbers of tourists every year, thanks to its golden sandy beaches, the most famous of which is Nissi Beach, Watersports such as water-skiing, windsurfing, canoeing,scuba diving and speed boating and very hospitable restaurants and active night life.
The Cyprus Tourist Board supervises all the beaches in Ayia Napa have been awarded with the EU blue flag for their level of cleanliness and the wealth of facilities offered all along this magical coast. The Square, central to the town, is filled with restaurants, nightclubs and shops, and for many is seen as the focal point of the Agia Napa night-life.
One of the best known landmarks of Ayia Napa is undoubtedly its beautiful monastery.Many couples flock each year to celebrate their Weddings. Take a stroll around the lovely harbour area, where you can spend many a happy hour or two eating, drinking and just watching the world go by.

Waterworld Waterpark, Ayia Napa - This is the largest themed Waterpark in Europe, offering a funfilled way to spend a day. A variety of water slides and amenities.This award-winning park deserves a visit.
Water sports – This is one of the best areas on the island for fabulous watersports. Take part in paragliding, water skiing, hire a speedboat, jet ski’s, even try out a flying fish!! The list is endless and so are the fantastic beaches with watersport facilities.
Bungee Jumping – for the adventurous tourists in Cyprus, bungee jumping is available in Ayia Napa. It conforms to the Australian & New Zealand safety standards.
Go-karting - There are many go- karting centres in Cyprus. Most are open seven days a week, an excellent one being located at Ayia Napa, next door to the Waterpark.
Diving - Warm seas, clear waters and all year-round sunshine ensure that diving in Cyprus remains a popular pastime. The varied nature of the dive sites as well as the lack of tides and currents means that both beginners and more experienced divers can enjoy the experience. There's plenty of underwater life and a huge variety of fish.
Situated very centrally in Ayia Napa, you are only a few minutes walk from all the shops, restaurants, etc. along Nissi Avenue and the wonderful Nissi Beach area.
You are approx 5 minutes walk from AYia Napa Harbour, and 15 minutes drive will take you to Protaras centre and the fantastic Fig Tree Bay area. Paralimni centre is only 20 minutes drive away and as this area is served by a bus service along Nissi Avenue, a car is not necessary.
