The Costa de la Luz / Huelva Province region
The Costa de la Luz, meaning the 'Coast of Light', extends from the borders of Portugal down to the strait of Gibraltar. The coastline is divided into two sections, covering the provinces of Huelva and Cadiz.
Holidaymakers take advantage of the watersports that are offered in places like Tarifa. Here the cooler temperatures and increased wind around the Atlantic make it ideal conditions to windsurf in. The golden sandy beaches tend to be less crowded than the Costa del Sol as visitor numbers are lower. Even so they are equally as beautiful and are interspersed with small charming white washed towns and villages.
As the Costa de la Luz covers two provinces in Andalucía, there are a number of sights to be seen, the coastline itself stretches some 330km and contains busy tourist resorts as well as smaller beaches with crystal clear waters and fine sandy dunes.
