About the home

The first floor luxury apartment is very comfortably furnished with one double bedroom with en suite bathroom, one twin room and separate bathroom with shower. The kitchen is well equipped for self catering with fridge, electric cooker, iron and ironing board, washing machine, microwave, terrace table and chairs,etc. In the lounge there is a sofa-bed for extra guests. The apartment has two balconies benefiting from the all day sunshine. The front balcony overlooks the large communal swimming pool and children's pool while the larger balcony overlooks the golf course. Communal gardens surround the property.

The Costa de la Luz region

The Costa de la Luz (coast of light) is situated in the south west of Spain. The land is largely undeveloped and since the government plans to protect the area and prohibit mass unchecked building the area has retained its tranquility, peace and beauty. It is particularly appealing to nature lovers and has the largest wildlife reserve in Europe, Parque Nacional Donana and has a spectacular birdlife, plantlife and landscape. Many parts remain untouched and have miles of uncrowded beaches and nature reserves and have been the holiday destination of the Spanish with the towns and villages still retaining their local traditions and hospitality. The average annual temperature is 20 degrees and has approximately 300 days of sunshine a year. The fresh Atlantic wind ensures that the heat is always kept at a comfortable level.

Heulva is the closest city to Ayamonte and it is of great historical interest as it is from here that Christopher Columbus set sail on his voyage.

Seville is situated about 75 minutes away on the banks of the Guadalqivir river. The tallest building in the city is the tower of the Giralda Cathedral, the world's tallest gothic church.

The Ayamonte / Isla Canela Golf area

Ayamonte is a very picturesque, traditional Spanish town situated at the mouth of the Guadiana River. The tranquil atmosphere facilitates the full enjoyment of the restaurants, shops and squares. A great way to enjoy an afternoon is to find a seat at one of the many restaurants in the town square and enjoy the local cuisine and wine while watching the world go by. There are many shops to visit and it is very enjoyable to wander around them in the evening. At the marina it is possible to take boat rides up the Guadiana River into the heart of the mountain region with a thoroughly generous and enjoyable meal laid on at the turn-around point and a visit across the river to the twin Portuguese village to further sample the locality. There is a tremendous view of the the huge suspension bridge linking Spain with Portugal. Trips out to sea are available. There is also a 10 minute ferry across to Portugal.
