Booking Information:
Here is a summary of important information about booking your self catering holiday in our beautiful home, together with other useful information to help you enjoy your stay in Devon. We recommend that you read our full Terms and Conditions before booking, as a confirmed booking will mean that you have understood them and agreed to them.
A complete set of instructions and booking information will be sent to you once your booking has been confirmed. Other useful information to help you enjoy your stay in Devon will be found in abundance in the cottage itself, within leaflets, books on the area, and other guest's comments.
Please also remember when booking that this is a private family home and not a hotel. It is also a truly rural idyll and, even though thoroughly modernised, will require a degree of self-sufficiency and understanding of living in the country. You will, however, experience the true nature and beauty of living in a thatched cottage in the glorious East Devon Countryside.
Guests should also be aware that the driveway although short, is very steep and should be negotiated with care. It is advised to ensure the gate is open before starting up the drive and upon exiting to stay to the left hand side, where the slope is less severe.
Please contact us if you have a question or wish to initiate a booking.
Weekly bookings run from Saturday to Saturday with arrivals from 4.00 pm and departures by 10.00 am. We do not normally offer short breaks. However, for bookings of four nights or more, please contact us to discuss your requirements.
All prices are in Pounds GB and are fully inclusive of electricity, full central heating, logs for the fire, bed linen and towels.
Credit/Debit Card payment accepted.
We provide one bath sheet and one hand towel per person, and tea towels. However you should bring your own beach towels, plus any other linen you may require. A high chair and a cot can be provided if advance notice is given, however cot linen is not provided.
Please bring slippers, as outdoor shoes are not allowed in the bedrooms. There is a welcome 'basket' which includes bread, butter, jam, milk, tea, coffee and sugar. Catering is available by prior arrangement.
We clean the property on arrival and after departure. For stays of two weeks or more, we change sheets on every seventh day. Additional cleaning may be scheduled on request at an additional cost.
Plenty of cleaning materials are provided. Only guests listed on the booking form may stay at Canterbury Cottage. No smoking is allowed in the cottage or gardens. Pets are not allowed.
There is a telephone for incoming calls, outgoing local calls and 999 emergency calls only. A local contact will be provided for emergencies.
