The Chernomore Villa is located in the village of Avren. It is a popular village which has a quiet atmosphere and an excellent mix of local Bulgarian people and foreign nationals. The Villa is in close proximity to Varna and the Black Sea Coast.

The Villa sleeps up to seven people. The ground floor has an entrance, utility room with automatic washing machine, shower room, lounge with sofa bed and dining area with log fire. There is also a fitted kitchen with a cooker and fridge freezer.

The first floor has one double bedroom with balcony, having twin beds, opposite a family bathroom. The second bedroom, also with a balcony, has a double bed and en-suite bathroom. There's a double sofa bed and a single chair bed situated in the lounge.

There is a security alarm system, wireless internet connection, Satellite TV, DVD player, air conditioning and patio furniture.


Located approximately 20 minutes' drive from Varna City, 15 minutes' drive from the Black Sea coast, and 30 minutes' drive from Varna International Airport.

The Municipality is a collection of small and friendly villages.

It has a population of around 8000 people. The town of Avren is small, but there is a good range of amenities and a regular bus service that operates between Avren, the local villages and the city of Varna. In addition to the municipal offices, Avren has a post office, a medical centre, a dentist, a vet, a library, an internet room, a police station, an observatory, two mini-markets and several other shops. There are several bars and restaurants. There is a large, newly-renovated guest house which is run by a British family and which also includes a restaurant. Many events and fund-raising activities are held in Avren and it is a central meeting place for "expats" and for tourists staying in the local area. Education is considered very important in Avren. There is a nursery/kindergarten, a primary school and a secondary school. Several British children already attend the schools. The schools employ English-speaking teachers and they have an excellent reputation. ADSL broadband internet is available in Avren. The surrounding villages also receive good internet access through "radio internet" which sends and receives signals from Avren.

More than 100 foreign citizens from Britain, Ireland, France, Holland and other European countries have already bought properties in Avren. Many more have properties in nearby village such as Sadovo Benkovski, Zdravets, Kitka and Priseltsi.

A new leisure complex is to be built in Avren. It will offer a swimming pool, spa centre and other leisure amenities. The complex will be ecologically friendly and will include a residential area with energy-efficient houses that are constructed out of renewable resources.

Visit Kamchia Nature reserve:

The protected area of Longoza is the former buffer zone around Kamchiya Reservation. Longoza was declared a protected area by order No ??-523 of 12 July 2007.

The total area of the protected site is 230 hectares, 70 of which are forest areas and protected dense forests, 160 hectares are agricultural lands.

Typical for the protected areas are the dense forests, which grow on alluvial deposits in the earth during the periodic flooding, caused by the river Kamchiya. The wetland areas along the river and the dense forests are considered to be a natural wetland at the Black Sea coast. The landscape around the Kamchiya reservation and in the protected area is almost flat; the only slopes are in the northern parts near the sea.

The usual floods in the dense forests happen when the water level of Kamchiya river rises. This usually happens in the spring .

A variety of plant and animal species can be seen in the protected area of Longoza.

Tourist expeditions are allowed from Kamchiya river to the borders of the reserve. However, tourists must comply with certain requirements.

Kamchia River - The merging of two small rivulets, springing from the eastern Balkan Range - Luda Kamchia and Golyama Kamchia, forms the Kamchia River. It empties some 9000 liters of water every second into the Black Sea. During the spring, that amount can be as much as 30, 000 liters per second. Running down through the Balkan Range Kamchia meanders through unique woodland called Longoza. The Ropotamo River, Dyavolska River and the Veleka River have similar geological structure - sandstone, clay loam formations covered with wild vegetation in the quiet and large firth. Once Kamchia was called Panisos and the Slavs called it Ticha. Its contemporary name is of Kouman origin. The Romans built a stronghold called Erite on its left bank. Nowadays the frequently flooded area is a reserve named after the Kamchia River. The reserve is under the protection of UNESCO. It is 40 km in length and 5 km in width in some of its parts. There are deer, sea hawks and eagles, wild boars, wild cats etc.

Why Bulgaria?

The centuries-old Bulgarian culinary traditions have created remarkable combinations of fresh ingredients, a joy to the eye and the palate, a real veritable gastronomic treasure.The Bulgarian culinary geography abounds in delicious specialities and exotic dishes: Shopska salad (fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, onion and white feta cheese), Bansko-style kapama (meat and vegetables stewed in an earthenware dish), Rodope cheverme (lamb roasted on a spit over an open fire), Danube fish soup and Sozopol-style mussels, Thracian katmi (special kind of pancake) and Dobroudja banitsa.

What can be better than a tasty dish in combination with a glass of good wine!? If you think so, you will be satisfied in Bulgaria.

Because Bulgarian white and red wines are world famous with their excellent quality and have been awarded prizes at international competitions and exhibitions.

Culinary traditions

When we speak about the Bulgarian culinary traditions we can`t fail to mention the features of the local product Bulgarian yogurt. It is unique because of the bacteria Lactobacillus bulgaricus and Streptococcus thermophilus which can exist only in Bulgaria. These bacteria ingest natural milk sugars and release lactic acid as a waste product. This way they form the specific taste of the Bulgarian yogurt.

Yogurt is the main ingredient of the traditional Balkan drink airan (ayran). Bulgarians prepare it of yougurt mixed with water in ratio 1 pint plain yogurt + 1 pint cold water. In Turkey for example they prepare it in ratio 1 pitn plain yogurt + 2 pints cold water + salt.

Yougurt is also in the base of the traditional cold soup with cucumbers, garlic, dill and nuts calledtarator- one of the masters of the local regale. It can be served as a starter, as a side-dish together with the main dish- it is something like salad, drink or fixings.

Bulgarian white feta cheese and yellow cheese are aslo milk products with an international reputation of delicious speciality.

Although it may seems that the local yellow cheese is very similar to the yellow cheese produced in Middle Europe, they are quite different. The most obvious difference is in the way they look: the Middle European cheese has a lot of holes in it and the local yellow cheese doesn`t. The big size and number of the holes in the Middle European cheese are criteria for good quality, while their presence in the Bulgarian yellow cheese speaks about bed quality.

The white feta cheese is obligatory part of the famous traditional Shopska salad ( Shopsky-style salad)- the starter that every Bulgarian dinner and feast begins with. Its simple ingredients sliced tomatoes, cucumbers, onion and sprinkled with shredded white cheese on the top are so popular that humorously identify with the colours of the Bulgarian national flag: white as the cheese and the onion, green as the cucumbers, red as the tomatoes.

Bulgarian white feta cheese can be tasted in different varieties, not only like a part of salad or sauce. Stuffed in peppers, baked in gjuveche (ceramic small dish), in Shopsky style, in Panagjurishte style, like fried pieces, covered with eggs and flour- it offers a lot of tasty options.

Bulgarian traditional pasty banica is known in various types. With cheese, spinach, rice, scallion or marrow filling in different regions of the country they prepare it in a number of ways but it`s always very delicious.

The famous Bulgarian wines

The archeology, the local folklore and literature provide a lot of evidences that the wine traditions in Bulgaria start from neolithic ages and are part of the culture of Thracians, Romans, Greeks, Slavs and Bulgarians. Produced with thousand-year-old traditions Bulgarian wine has the glory of one of the best wines.

More than 100 000 hectares are devoted to growing vines and many parts of the country are blessed with ideal natural conditions.

Bulgaria is symbolically separated into several wine producing regions.

For example fine Merlot is produced in southern Bulgaria, in Haskovo winery.

Bulgarian white wines as Riesling, Chardonnay, SauvignonBlanc are also famous all arrond the world.

There are only two traditional varieties that can be called Bulgaria`s card in terms of wine. One is Mavrud, and the other is Melnik, also know as Shiroka Melnishka Loza. Mavrud is grown in central Southern Bulgaria while Melnik belongs to the southwestern part of the county.

The best local white wines come from the northwest regions of the country- from Varna and Pomorie.

From the valley of Roses between the mountains Stara planina and Sredna gora we can enjoy the aromatic Misket wines.

The numberless local wine cellers, the quality wines that they produce are attractive for lots of wine admirers, which choose exactly Bulgaria to spend their holiday here, meeting the beauty of the country and tasting its excellent wines.

The Varna Province region

Bulgaria borders five countries; Serbia, Macedonia, Romania, Greece and Turkey. This makes Bulgaria an excellent location for touring Eastern Europe. Bulgaria's currency is currently the Lev so the cost of living is much lower than many other European countries, offering a holiday that is good value for money.

The Black Sea coast has been an established tourist destination for over 20 years. The resorts of Golden Sands in the north (popular with investors) and Sunny Beach in the south (which is more commercialised) are both popular tourist hot spots.


The picturesque beach at Varna provides activities for both recreation and relaxation such as beach volleyball, swimming, sunbathing and massage. The beach attractions also include 'Mr Baba's', an excellent seafood restaurant. It offers the freshest fish in the unique atmosphere of an ancient galleon. Varna's city centre also offers a number of bars and restaurants which serve an excellent variety of international cuisine.

Excellent local fruit, vegetable and fish markets offering fresh produce are located in Varna's city centre. Avren is a short 15 minute drive from a secluded beach and the Kamchiya River Basin with Varna's beaches located within a 30 minute drive.
