The Murcia region
With 310 day of sunshine year t he region of murcia is a very historical part of spain and has many beautiful churches and interesting towns and buildings. there are miles of lovely beaches that are well known for there safety and cleanliness these are the beaches that are popular with the spanish and europeans alike amongst the many water sports ,sailing &soaking up the sun that is enjoyed you might like to charter a cruiser for the day at the cost of approx £40 PP. and for the golfer you will be spoilt or choice the nearest golf corse to our villa is peraleja it is 2kms away and is truly breathtaking
As well as the many golf corses the shopping centre of dos mares is just 15 mins drive away and has somthing for every one from designer jewellery .large supermarket to burgerking! or if you want to venture out you can always get the ferry from san javier to la manga there are 2 waterparks approx 30 mins drive or a safari park for all the family to enjoy

"relaxing with all home comforts"
With a very busy lifestyle we do not want a kareoke type holiday and this villa is in a quiet location but within a 10 minute drive of bars/shops /beach ect The villa is very spacious and very clean the pool is maitained to a high standard and the garden is very neat We were a little concerned as the air con is metered but the owner provides 30 euro per week ( if you need more you can purchase it from the key holder ) we found we really didn't need to. On arrival it was nice that some essentials were there for us and although the booking form asked us to vacate by 10 am the owner happily let us stay on later at no extra cost Excellant service great villa

"A wonderful villa but stock up on the insect repellants"
A very spacious villa with a beautiful garden and good smimming pool. The villa is very well equiped and comfortable and although the air conditioning system is metered, it does function reasonably effectively considering it is one system that feeds the bedrooms and living room.
While the village has an excellent bakery, a small butcher and tiny supermarket , a car is essential to get to the larger supermarket as the village is only served by a very limited bus service.
The village people are very friendly (spanish) although the migrant North Africans who work the surrounding fields, very much keep themselves to themselves.
Looking at the size of the TV satellite dish one would expect pictures from the moon or Mars, but the signal was very tempermental and only BBC 1 was available until early evening.
While the villa itself is detached the garden area at the front and one side adjoin the next door neighbour. The next door neighbour keeps a guard dog outside 24/7 and while it is given food and water, the owner never once cleaned the area during the period of our stay. The stench was quite revolting and depending on the wind direction was unbearable.
Throughout the day from early morning through to dusk, the villa and patio areas are invaded with flies which should be no surprise as the villa is set amongst farming land. This is very annoying as breakfast and lunch al fresco eating is a real challenge. Stick up on the fly spray as well as ant powder and wasp repellant.
In the eveneing once it is dark, be preapred for a sudden influx of flying ants which were blown on to us 3 times while we were sat down to evening dinner at around 11.00pm. Could only describe them as flying tiddlywinks!
I would also advise anyone considering booking to ensure you have agreed ground rules from the owner. Nothing was provided for my booking which with the benefit of hindsight is something I should have insisted upon. The local caretaker provided feedback to the owner at the end of our stay and without going into detail, this resulted in a significant dedcution from the deposit. Also the local "man" did not attend to cleaning of the pool as well as he should have done and my family were accused of leaving a yellowy slimy film across the pool at the end of our stay. This was despite me speaking with the chap on the 3 occassions he turned up to clean the pool.
We had a wonderful time at Casa Rosa despite the insects but when we returned we were shocked at the behaviour of the local caretaker.
