The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Vaucluse region
Capital of Côtes du Rhône wines and provençal gastronomy, eating and drinking is always a pleasure throughout the region.
The countryside is packed with top quality vineyards, with tasting and purchase possible. The famous Chateau-Neuf du Pape is 10 minutes drive away.
There is plenty of interesting shopping both modern and antique. Many nearby towns have antique and other markets on different days.
Avignon / Historic City Centre area
Avignon is a city of culture, in the heart of beautiful Provence.
When Pope Clement V took up residence in 1309, the city became the centre of the Christian world for 100 years with buildings and art to match. These are now listed as 'Unesco World Heritage Sites'.
Avignon is central to Provence and has many varied top-quality restaurants, bars and nightclubs.
The theatre festival in July with more than 600 performances attracts enthusiasts worldwide. Year round there is opera, ballet and orchestral music.
Grand Avignon Golf (10 mins by car) is an 18 hole par 72 golf course set in 150 acres.
Further afield, Paris is only 2 hours 40 mins by train and Marseille and the coast are only 35 mins.
The beauty of rural Provence, with 300 days of sunshine a year, is all around!

- Fly to Avignon airport and take a taxi to the town centre (10 kms) - Take the TGV from London, Paris or Marseille, then take a taxi to town the centre (3 km) - Drive down the Rhone Valley on A7 motorway

A 15% Deposit is payable at booking time (this counts towards the full cost, but is not refundable in case of cancellation).
The remaining 85% is payable 3 weeks before arrival and the 450 Euro security deposit is payable to our agent in Avignon on collection of the keys.

Just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay in Avignon. The apartment is fabulous, as I am sure you know! What a location! Philippe was charming and all the arrangements for meeting him worked out fine.
We toured all around and had glorious weather for the Pont du Gard. I had been in the area the previous week, when the mistral was blowing, so we enjoyed the fine weather for our week in Avignon.
Thank you again for making the arrangements so easy.
