The famous Pont d'Avignon is just minutes away as are the museums, galleries, opera house, restaurants, bars, and shops - so everything is right on your doorstep - perfect for a city break or as a base for touring 'la belle Provence'.
The bed is made, there are fresh flowers in the vase - plenty of guidebooks, a selection of music and a complementary bottle of wine so that your holiday can start the moment you arrive. The large terrace is furnished with table, chairs and parasol - perfect for sunny breakfasts and warm evenings.You can almost feel the history seeping from the ancient stone buildings!

Apart from all the treasures of Avignon there's so much to see in the area - Roman amphitheatres in Orange, Vaison la Romaine, Nimes and Arles: the aquaduct at Pont du Gard, Aix en Provence, the lavender fields, the ochres of Roussillon, the Carmargue, medieval hilltop villages, abbeys bustling markets, glorious food and delicious wines from villages whose names are so familiar: Gigondas, Beaumes de Venise, Chateauneuf du Pape, Tavel all in and around the Cotes du Rhone and Cotes du Ventoux region.
Avignon area
The city walls of almost 5 kms surround a wealth of monuments and historic buildings: The Pope's Palace, with walls 4 metres thick and up to 50 metres high, The 12th century Cathedral of Notre-Dame, The Pont Saint Benezet, well known from the old nursery song 'Sur le pont'. the Musee Calvet housing antiques, sculptures and a wonderful collection of paintings. The famous Avignon Festival takes place throughout July each year. For a relaxing day out, including lunch on board, take a river boat down the Rhone to visit Arles. On the right bank of the Rhone and with great views to Avignon is Villeneuve lez Avignon, the town of Cardinals - the 12th century tower, Fort St Andre and the Chartreuse are all very well worth visiting.

Further details indoors: The light and airy apartment has lovely tall rooms with elegant windows overlooking the private courtyard gardens of the18th century mansions as well as the private terrace. The entrance hall leads to a separate kitchen and the spacious double aspect living room. Also overlooking the terrace is the comfortable bedroom with a kingsize double bed which can be separated into a pair of twin beds if you prefer . There's a separate w.c. and a large bathroom with full sized bath and over bath shower. With antique armoires and plenty of storage it's somewhere you can really relax.
Further details
Rentals run from Saturday to Saturday although we do try to be flexible. The price is fully inclusive - there are no hidden extras. For stays of longer than a week there will be a change of linen/towels and some cleaning provided. Additional cleaning can be arranged.
