This extraordinary, multi-level apartment is situated within the historic city walls of Avignon, 100m from the SNCF train station and the 'Rue de la Republique', the main shopping centre in town.
On the second floor of a 15th century residence, the apartment was entirely renovated in 2001, providing modern facilities while retaining its ancient character through hand crafted beams and stonework. It is exquisitely decorated and furnished in a combination of both modern and ancient styles. The terrace enjoys a southern exposure and has a largeJacuzzi. Located in the heart of the walled city of Avignon, this ancient building has been
renovated from top to bottom by its architect-designer-owner.
No expense has been spared and the result is a striking city apartment incorporating traditional Provençal features such as heavy beamed ceilings, antique terra cotta tile floors and exposed stonework with every modern convenience.
It is distinctively furnished with the best of both contemporary and antique pieces.
On the 2nd floor entry is an open-plan living-dining room-kitchen. In the sitting area are two comfortable sofas and glass side tables.
An antique pine table seats six people and the well-equipped kitchen features maple cabinetry and butcher block counters.
On a mezzanine above the living room is a small den with sofa, satellite television and a state of the art music system.
Upstairs are 2 bedrooms, one with en suite shower.
On the main level is a single bedroom and a full bathroom.
All the bedrooms are well-designed and the bathrooms feature unique mosaic tile work. The crowning touch is a terrace with eating area, Jacuzzi and roof-top views.

"good location, friendly manager"
The multi-level apartment was located in the pedestrian area of Avignon, minutes from the Popes Palace and museums, supermarkets and Les Halles. The carpark is about 400 metres from the apartment and the spiralling 60+ stairs up to the apartment might be too hard for people with heavy luggage, but the spa made the effort worthwhile. Despite being in the centre of town the apartment was surprisingly quiet; so evenings on the terrace were relaxing. Both Patrick and his manager, Catherine, spoke English and were very helpful with tips to make the visit to Avignon and the surroundings very enjoyable. We appreciated their efforts.

Our late booking was made easy by the owner, and their repesentative 'Catherine' who greeted us on arrival was a mind of useful tips and recommendations.
The two terrace rental had everything we needed and we quickly got used to the spiral staircase entrance. The location could not have been better within the historic town with activity during the day and yet completely quiet at night.
Lovely private terrance that could only be made better with the provision of extra comfortable sun loungers.
Thoroughly recommend and good for teenagers who require the WIFI internet access 24/7.
