This charming 1st floor apartment is the top floor of a traditional town house in a street close to the centre of the city inside the medieval walls. A large private terrace (36 sq m, rather than small balcony as is usual) is very hard to find near the centre of town and adds immensely to its attraction. You can enjoy the outdoor lifestyle and it is usual to be able to eat outside year round. It is only a few minutes walk from all the sites and amenities of central Avignon. The street is in a quiet residential area which in Medieval times was the city's Italian quarter.

The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur region

The apartment is also only walking distance from the bus and train stations which give access to all the sites of Provence. These include Les Baux, Arles, Nimes, Aix-en-Provence, Tarascon and Beaucaire, the Ventoux and Luberon hills, the Ardeche valley, Orange, the Pont du Gard, the wine country of the Rhone, St-Maries de la Mere, the Camargue, Aigues Mortes etc. The Camargue, Marseilles and the coast are all within an hours travel.

Avignon

Avignon is a historic city of culture at the heart of old Provence. It rates 3 stars in the Michelin guide as a 'must visit'. Along with the Popes Palace, and the famous Pont D'Avignon (Bridge of Avignon), there are numerous galleries and museums to visit as well as a wealth of restaurants, cafes and other city amenities. On average there are 300 days of sunshine per year.

Within a few minutes walk are shops and cafes, Avignon's central food market (Les Halles), and an Internet drop in centre with high speed (ADSL) internet access.

"Charming and comfortable"

The apartment is conveniently located within the city walls, in a quiet old neighbourhood, within walking distance to everything of interest in Avignon. If coming by car, there is free parking just outside the city walls, 5 min away from the apartment. The apartment is very nicely decorated and fully equipped for a very comfortable stay. The terrace is amazing. The owner is very accommodating and his local contact is very nice and full of insider tips on where to shop for the best&cheap cheese, bread and wine, where to dine as a local, have a drink with a view and go on an unforgettable daytrip.
We really enjoyed our stay and would like to return soon. The only downside we can think of is that there was no internet connection in the apartment, especially because wifi hotspots are not frequent in nearby bars and restaurants.

"Perfect For Us!"

I was very happy with this apartment. It was adorable and very comfortable. The balcony was our favorite area but all of the apartment worked out great for us. The kitchen had all that we needed and the sleeping arrangements were just right. Catherine, the care taker met us on our arrival and was very friendly and helpful with tips on sightseeing, places to eat, etc. If I were to visit Avignon again I would make plans to return to this same apartment.

"Central old town Avignon flat"

We loved our first trip to Provence, and Avignon was a great central location to drive from to explore the region. The rental was very quiet and comfortable. It was also close to restaurants, cafes, … More

To save everyone time and because we trust our guests we don't do a full inventory on check in and out. It seems some kitchen items got broken and not replaced. All now replaced. If any small items needed are missing we are happy for guests to buy them and we will reimburse.
