I booked the house for a friends hen party and it was exactly as I imagined. All 12 girls enjoyed the stay, it was perfect for our celebrations. The house is dated but has been upgraded in the rooms. … More

"Lots of room - a little run down"

We rented the entire property as a self-catering holiday home for a 6 night stay. There were 11 of us ranging from grandparents to young children. We had really struggled to find availability for such… More

It would have been very nice if you had made any of your comments to me in person whilst you were staying in the house and you would have got a reply...and that is the time to get any problems rectified. It never fails to amaze me that people with lots to say can never say it in person!!.. Normally when I gave someone the deposit back, the least I get is thank you....In your case I am still waiting. The temperature in Aviemore was up to 18 degrees during your stay so I guess you really needed lots of heat in the house....hence you changed the heating control to on 24 hours! Two of the bedrooms had just had new wallpaper the week before your stay and a new bed had been purchased in February. I hardly think that a Miele washing machine and dryer is rundown!

To anyone reading this and thinking about booking The Shelter Stone you will be made most welcome. The house dates back to the early 1900's and has many original features so if you want a new all singing dancing house this is not for you! It is a home with lots of creaks and character with lots of love in it over the years
