Home description

Claymore is a modern 2 bedroom semi detached selfcatering bungalow that is freshly decorated and furnished.It has a double bedroom and 1 further bedroom with bunkbeds and a single bed,1 bathroom with shower over bath and 1 further wc with wash hand basin.

There is a big cupboard just inside the front door which is ideal for storing skis etc.

The back garden is private with high fences and secure if you have little ones and is beautifully set with alpine shrubs making it ideal for BBQ,s on sunny days while looking at the picturesque cairngorm mountains and beyond,during the winter you can see the ski slopes.

There is a driveway for a car and also a garden shed which is for guests use.
A selection of board games is available and also a wide range of brochures and tourist gides for information of most activities in the Aviemore area.

The Highlands region

The scenery in the Scottish Highlands can only be described as beautiful with all its natural scenery and mountain ranges.
This is also home to the famous whisky trail where some distilleries are open for guided tours.


Aviemore area

Aviemore is a village at the bottom of the Cairngorm Mountains in Speyside which is part of the Cairngorm National Park.
A 5-10 minute walk from the house is Dalfaber Golf and Country Club which has a golf course,swimming pool,jacuzzi,gym,fishing and many more activities membership is available on a daily or weekly basis but the bars and restaurants are open to visitiors.
9 miles South of Aviemore is the cairngorm mountains which is scotlands premier ski-ing facilities (www.cairngormmountain.co.uk )here you can ski in the winter or enjoy the walks which are available with a guide from the base station if needed also you can take the funicular railway up the mountain where there is a restaurant,viewing station and exhibition centre.
Loch Morlich ( www.lochmorlich.com) is a loch where there is watersports,a beach,mountain bike hire and many other activities available.
A 10 min drive north of Aviemore is Carrbridge where there is Landmark(www.landmarkpark.co.uk) which has water slides,restaurant ,treehouses etc where the children are sure to have an enjoyable day out.

How to get there

Our property is only 30 minutes drive from Inverness where there is an international airport.
Trains are regularly available from London and the south,Aviemore train station is only a short distance from the property and taxis are always waiting.
Aviemore has direct links by road (A9)to Edinburgh,Glasgow and the South which is about a 2 hour drive.
Regular buses run to the Cairngorm mountains.
Car hire is available in Aviemore.

Travelling from the South follow the signs for Inverness and at the North end of Aviemore you will see 2 flagpoles which direct you to Dalfaber Golf and Country Club,turn right down this road until you cross the railway line and then take your first right and go straight where you will find our house.
