The Scottish Highlands region

The highlands of Scotland are as beautiful as you'd expect - stunning mountains on the horizon, beautiful coastline and lochs, and loads of history and culture to experience. It's a great place for anyone who enjoys the outdoors with plenty to do.

The Barclay-Watt family has been coming here for 4 generations, and love the variety of outdoor activities that are all around.

During the Spring, Summer and Autumn, there's loads of hill walking around the local Monroes, plenty of mountain biking, and sailing and kayaking in Loch Insh and Morlich.

There are some great courses around, with Boat of Garten being one of the best inland courses in Scotland, Kinussie and Pitlochrie providing some fantastic holes, and the recently opened Spey Valley providing another option very close by.

During the winter, Skiing can be done on Cairngorm and in two other resorts, Glenshee and Lecht.

All year round, there is also shopping, great local restaurants and gym and swimming facilities at the MacDonalds local hotel complex which the house also includes a pass to.
