About the home

Villa Dragonfly is located just a few minutes walk from the centre of the village. Quiet and peaceful, yet only fifteen minutes drive from the beautiful beaches of the South Coast, and the large popular resort area of Ayia Napa.

Villa Dragonfly has easy access to all amenities, including supermarkets, excellent restaurants and cafes.

The villa has its own private pool (very popular with children) and a beautiful covered al fresco dining area including a beer fridge!

This 3 bedroom villa is ideal for families, and holidaymakers who prefer accomodation close to, but not in the tourist areas.

Facilities

Open plan kitchen and lounge area is fully equipped and includes granite work surfaces, electric oven and hob.

Six seater dining table inside, comfortable sofas, and a large TV with UK channels (BBC, ITV etc), extensive DVD collection and a Wii console with plenty of games.

Downstairs bedroom contains a standard 4' 6" sofa bed and ensuite shower. There is also a downstairs toilet.

2 double bedrooms upstairs with access to patio areas where you can watch the sunset and take in the beautiful views of the surrounding area.

All bedrooms have ample built in cupboard storage.

2 bathrooms upstairs, one with bath, shower, sink and toilet, the other with shower cubicle, sink and toilet.

Fully air-conditioned with ceiling fans and fly screens in every room. The air-con also acts as heating for the slightly cooler evenings in the winter months.

All rooms are fitted with black out blinds to help keep you cool in the summer.

Free high speed WiFi broadband connection is included, and a desk top PC with webcam, which you can use for Skype, Facebook, email etc.

There are plenty of sun loungers and you don’t even need to bring your own beach towels, as these are also included.

The private swimming pool measures 6m (19' 8") by 3m (9' 10") and is 1.17m (3' 10") deep at the shallow end, and 1.65m (5' 5") at the deep end. There is also an outside shower near the pool.

There is a large covered outdoor dining area with a six seater glass top table, a Weber charcoal BBQ and (of course) a beer fridge!

Conditions

Smoking is permitted only in outside areas.
50% of the total rental fee is required to confirm the booking.
The balance of the rental fee is payable by 4 weeks prior to the booking arrival date.
A fully refundable security deposit of £100 is required to cover losses and breakages.
An additional exit cleaning charge of 50 Euro is added to the total hire cost.
Payments are made via international bank transfer - your bank may charge you a fee for this service.

The Famagusta region

Hop in the hire car (take a bus or call a cab if you fancy a few drinks) and head South, and you will be on the beautiful South Coast road in 10-15 minutes. Along this road you will find fabulous sea food restaurants and beautiful beaches such as Makronissos beach , Nissi beach, Konnos beach and Fig Tree Bay. And of course, the lively club land that is Ayia Napa.

Head North from Avgorou and within 10 minutes you will be at border crossing to the Turkish controlled Northern area of Cyprus. There are many places of interest to see in the North, but you will need to makes sure that your car hire Company insures your car to cross the border. If not, then we may be able to help by arranging private car hire or a guided tour of the North.

The Avgorou area

Avgorou is a small farming village situated in the Famagusta area in the South Eastern area of Cyprus. The soil in Avgorou is very fertile and dark red in colour. This soil makes Avgorou one of the main agriculture and animal farming areas in Famagusta.

The people of Avgorou cultivate a variety of potatoes, breadstuffs like barley, carrots, vegetables, locust trees, olive trees and some fruit trees. All of these products can be found in the local supermarkets and restaurants. We recommend wrapping potatoes in foil and popping on the BBQ for an hour - amazing!

There are plenty of Supermarkets, corner shops, bars, restaurants and banks with cashpoint facilites in and around Avgorou village. The village centre is a leisurely 10 minute walk from the Villa.

“Beautiful, comfortable, well equipped villa - a home from home.” Villa Dragonfly is situated in a quiet no-through road (1 of 5 villas). It is beautifully furnished with everything you could possibly want for a very comfortable and relaxing stay. The pool is great for cooling off when it gets too hot and there is a lovely covered area outside as well with a table and chairs to seat 6, so you can grab some shade and eat in comfort. Indoors there is air conditioning and ceiling fans in every room. We had two teenagers in our group (17 and 16) and they were kept entertained by the pool, the tv and dvd player, the nintendo wii (with several games to choose from) and access to the internet so they could keep up with their facebook accounts! The owners really have thought of everything, including writing a comprehensive handbook with instructions on how to work everything in the villa and ideas for places to visit with directions which we found invaluable. The representatives were very helpful and available to help with any queries - they also made sure the pool was kept nice and clean. Tips - hire a car so you can get to the lovely beaches easily and drive into Aiya Napa if you have teens! The best supermarket is a short drive away as well and in the height of the summer you don't want to walk far with heavy shopping, although there are some good shops in the village (including a fantastic bakery) within walking distance. All in all, a fantastic holiday destination - nice and quiet but within easy reach of lively resorts as well.

“Perfect relaxing holiday” This villa was perfect for a relaxing holiday for me and 2 friends. The villa was in a quiet location, but in walking distance of a small selection of shops and restaurants. It was also only a 15 minute drive for the more lively town of Ayia Napa, providing a great night out if required. The villa was quite a new property, which was very comfortable, perfectly clean and very well equipped. There were a range of DVDs, board games, and a wii console also with a range of games. This provided us with entertainment for the evening or in the daytime to escape the heat for an hour or so. The outside areas were also beautiful and lovely for sitting out in the evening. Overall this was a lovely holiday, ideal and well suited to a wide range of people.

“spotless villa, well equipt, quiet location, home from home, will go back again.” The Villa was excellent, very clean it had everything we could possibly need. It has extensive benefits within to keep young children occupied in the evenings, Nintendo Wi, fast Wifi access so they can keep in touch with friends via social media (keeps mobile phone cost down), DVD/CD players, Sat TV etc. The fact towels were supplied for use in the villa or for pool and beach to use is an added bonus, the washing machine also meant that you saved on how much luggage to take with you, with temperature's touching the 40's it only took max 1 hr to dry any washing. The pool was a good size and in the sun all day. Great areas round the pool for sun bathing. A decked and covered area great for eating outside. We will be using this villa again in the very near future. The Reps for this property live at the start of the drive so any advice on local facilities can be obtained at any time. Tips The Villa is located in a lovely village with walking distance to local shops for all your needs where english is understood, a car is essential if you want to travel to the nearest beaches. Protoris and Napa beaches are approx 15mins drive away.

“Complete home from home” Thoughtfully kitted out house - everything you might need on a holiday, nothing like your run-of-the-mill average villa rental. Very comfortable indeed. Quiet cul-de-sac. Car is essential for groceries and visiting beaches.

“A fantastically well equipt, spotlessly clean 'home from home'” We really enjoyed our stay at Villa Dragonfly. It was spacious, very comfortable and had everything you could possibly need. We loved the decked and covered area outside, it was a great place to sit and relax and wasn't overlooked. Avgarou is a large village and we found the local people friendly and welcoming. There are several food stores and a great bakery within walking distance and a well stocked supermarket a short drive away. The local bars and restaurants were good value. There were some nice beaches nearby which took about twenty minutes to get to by car - one of these was a blue flag beach. Avgarou isn't a tourist resort and whilst we enjoyed this aspect of the location it might not suit everyone. We look forward to returning!

“Quiet end of village (car essential), very comfortable with all amenities.” Very enjoyable stay with full amenities, including pool. Very private. Car essential to get to shops and to visit sights. It was very warm when I stayed with a friend but the air conditioning was effective and there was shade in the small garden. We found a delightful sunny and secluded corner off the kitchen for our breakfasts.
