The apartment is private, located at 1st floor level above the garage and accessed from the front by steps or else at the garden at the rear. Peace and tranquility assured here you will find a holiday opportunity for painting and relaxing or simply enjoying this unique part of the Cantal.

The large garden is private, equipped with BBQ and jardiniere for your own use where guests may enjoy their meals undisturbed. You may park your car in the drive up to the garden.

The bedroom is ensuite, equiped with modern bath and shower. The living room is equipped with a wood stove and furnished in style.

Supermarkets are 15 mins. drive away whilst local epicerie and 11 euro lunches including wine are available hereabouts. Salers, Argentat are interesting tourist towns with historical interest and castles to visit for your interest.

Direct budget flights 2-3 hrs. drive away available to Rodez and Limoges and, starting April 2014, also to Brive

Train travellers from Paris can disembark at Brive 2 hrs. drive, or Aurillac, 45 mins. drive away. Hertz etc. can be hired from those points.

The Limousin/Auvergne region

Here you are in The Cantal, famous for its cheese and the Salers cattle and where the air is so pure moss hangs from the trees.. The cattle here graze outdoors and resemble scottish highland breed and take their name from Salers, a walled medieval town and home to the knights templar, some 35 mins drive away and a main tourist attraction with restaurants and hotels offering stunning views of the volcanic scenery hereabouts. Puy de Mary being the most famous for walks and in winter full skiing facilities are available at Le Lorian, 90 mins. drive away.

Aurillac, the county town with a Huegenot past offering local boutiques, outdoor cafés amidst its medieval architecture whilst Hypermarket etc. is out of town.

Summers are generally dry and hot and magnificent colours in autumn. Heavy snow is usually expected February and temps. rise rapidly through March. The seasons are all marked here by wild flowers here that line the routes and general countryside life.

River gorges mark the region tapped by hydro electric stations (tours available!) and the barrage lakes available for recreation including walks, swimming and an adventure park.

Aurillac

Here you will find tranquility. It is the most underpopulated area of france predominantly agicultural and without industry save for tourism strongly promoted in this region. In fact it is so underpopulated the mirage fighters occasionally do their low flying exercises as an occasional but rather brief treat! Here you will find the apartment is located in rolling countryside somewhat redolent of Dorset with river canyons. A ruined XV century castle is nearby as is several short walks.

Pleaux, 15 mins. drive away is the local historic town with local shops and supermarkets.and has a local market the 13th and 27th each month. Further afield is Argenat in the Correze and by the river Dordogne. Very picturesque with riverside restaurants and caoeing facilities on hand.

Mauriac is nearby, not as pretty but has large supermarkets and stores are here for budget shopping.

Horse riding facilities are easily availablefor all ages at nearby villages.

For daily shopping needs there is a local épicerie and café at Loupiac and local cafés offer superb 4 course lunches including wine and coffee for 11 euros, usually booked in advance.
