The villa and terrace are south facing so in sunshine from dawn to dusk.
The villa has a private garden on three levels offering a number of sunny and shaded seating areas.
The loggia (covered terrace area) is accessed from the living room and kitchen. It has a large table and chairs for outdoor dining and a large gas BBQ including griddle, broiler, burner and two grills.
The pool is freeform (9mx5m approx) and saline which means the water is very slightly salty (similar to teardrops) and avoids chlorine irritation. The depth is graded from 1.2m-1.9m with integral steps and underwater lighting and security alarm.
The large sunny south facing terrace is equipped with sun loungers and parasols. At the back of the villa is a small boules court.
The garden is surrounded by fencing, although it is possible to access the national forest where there are some fabulous walks.
The villa is built on the side of a hill, with a flight of steps from the drive to the main entrance. On-site parking for 2/3 cars.
The river Siagne runs in the valley below the villa (five minutes walk away) and provides a great location for trout fishing and lovely walks.
Our English/French speaking representative will meet you and show you around the villa and answer any questions. There is a comprehensive information pack also available, containing everything you might need, such as instructions for appliances, directions to shops and supermarkets, restaurant recommendations and leisure activities.
A car is recommended to take advantage of all of the areas that can be explored, and for day to day use (as the villa is about a mile from the nearest shopping area). In addition to the local village bistro, plus the local bar/pizzeria, the villa is a few minutes drive of numerous restaurants, from traditional French fixed menu lunches to 3 star Michelin gastronomic delights.
The Provence region
The villa is situated in the hills adjacent to the old village of Auribeau.
Auribeau village is perched on a ridge at the entrance to the Gorges de la Siagne, and is very picturesque, both viewed from a distance and within the village itself. It's off the beaten tourist track, even though only 10 to 15 minutes from the beaches of the Cote d'Azur and 13m from Cannes.
The Villa is located on the edge of the Péygros forest, a national park. The river Siagne runs in the valley below the villa (five minutes walk away) and provides a great location for trout fishing and pretty walks. After sun set you can sometimes hear the river frogs, which provide a delightful serenade. Walking or mountain biking is possible on the trails in the area around the villa. Part of Les Balcons de la Côte d'Azur, passes through Auribeau.
Golden Eagles hunt the Forêt de Péygros and the hills to the northeast, and you'll often see one or two of them soaring majestically through the blue sky above the villa, or occasionally hear their hunting cry. The hills are smothered in bluish-green mimosa bushes which bloom in Feb/Mar and cover the hills with bright yellow flowers and a strong fragrance. The flowers are used in the perfume industry in Grasse, as is the Eucalyptus (the pale green trees, planted in rows that you can see growing on the hills in the far distance opposite the villa).
The nearest beaches are approximately 15 minutes drive away at La Napoule and Theoule sur Mer, which have lovely sandy areas, are close to beach front restaurants and are all free for public use. Beyond Theoule sur Mer there are a number of small coves, amongst dramatic red volcanic rock, accessed via the corniche parking areas. Beaches in Cannes are about 30 minutes away and a fee is usually payable to beach side hotels and restaurants for their use.
Mileage to main towns: Cannes 14, Grasse 8, Mougins 10, Valbonne 12, St Paul de Vence 26, Monaco 42, St Tropez 48. The train stations at Grasse and Mouans Sartoux, both 10 to 15 minutes drive away, have large free car parks. All trains go into Cannes and then run east to Nice, Villefranche, Monaco and Italy; west towards Marseille; or north via Nice to Alpine towns via narrow gauge/steam railways.

"A very relaxing holiday"
The villa was everything we had hoped for. The children loved the pool; the views were stunning and the facilities great. Auribeau sur Siagne is a very pretty hilltop village with two good restaurants and there are many others in neighbouring villages.

"Consistent quality, relaxing location"
We decided to revisit Mimosas again this half term with our son. Consistently fantastic experience. Lovely weather, not too hot, but still warm enough for son to enjoy the pool. Superb location, vi… More

"Magnificent villa, tranquil surroundings making an amazing holiday destination"
We had an amazing family holiday at Mimosa in July. The owners were most helpful in the run up to the holiday. They really went out their way to accommodate us and the information provided about the area and driving instructions were fantastic. The agents met us at the villa on our arrival and gave us more local information which proved invaluable, especially the location of a great boulangerie.
The villa was the cleanest, most comfortable and well-equipt we have ever stayed in. The decor, furniture and fittings were of a very high standard and everything worked perfectly. It was the most well-equipt kitchen we have ever used in a rented property. The owners really have thought of everything. The layout of the villa was also very good with the huge open plan living/dining room. There was great air circulation especially at night. The swimming pool was immaculate and we all enjoyed using it. It was fantastic to have satellite tv and wifi which was easily accessible on the terrace. We spent most of our time on the terrace outside, eating under the shade by the kitchen or lazy in the sun by the pool. Just glorious....
The location was perfect for us. It was an easy drive to a very good restaurant in the village and great local shops. It was also very easy to get to the coast and drive into the hills to some very beautiful villages.
We really can't think of any downsides to point out!

"Wonderful holiday from ideal base"
The villa was just as described, affording excellent views and privacy. Equipped to a very high standard, the owner having seemingly thought of everything one could reasonably need to enjoy the stay. Pool was a particular highlight (very necessary to keep cool during the hottest part of the day (temperatures always 30 degrees plus)) and we took all meals on the outside terrace. Children (teenagers) and adults alike enjoyed the very reliable and fast wifi, Playstation and satellite TV (UK channels). You need a car to potter about in and access the local sights and beaches - but from the villa you can be installed on the beach in 30 minutes. Trips to Pegomas (10 mins) to stock up at supermarket were very easy - and Auribeau itself (5 mins) is an absolute delight. We enjoyed trips to Grasse, Cannes, Nice, Mouans Sartoux (good railway links to Cote D'Azur - large free car park) and Theoule sur Mer (best beaches) but such was the quality of the villa, spent much time just relaxing and happily working our way through piles of novels and engaging in marathon outdoor Monopoly, Black Jack and Trivial Pursuit Pursuit sessions.

"Great house with lovely pool and beautiful views"
We had a wonderful holiday in Villa Mimosas. The house is peaceful, full of light and space and has plenty of room for six people. We found it very clean and well-equipped. We loved the inviting pool and pool area and the terrace overlooking the hillside - absolutely beautiful views. The location is great for trips to Cannes, Juan-les-Pins, Antibes and other places at the coast as well as Grasse, etc. We did, however, not explore the coast as much as we had planned to as we thoroughly enjoyed staying at the terrace and by the pool which was very relaxing. Would highly recommend this property.

"Fabulous, peaceful location with stunning views"
This was our second stay at this villa. Changeover guys were very friendly, villa spotlessly clean on arrival and pool in great condition.
Nice touch from the owners leaving a bottle of rose wine with a handwritten note. Demonstrates their attention to detail.
We stayed with our 4 year old son, who happily spent the majority of the two weeks in the pool! Many other things to do nearby, Cannes is only 20 mins away and only a short drive into the hills to reach lovely villages such as Cabris, with the most amazing views.

"Perfect villa, fabulous location, wonderful holiday"
Ideal location in beautiful village in mountains but very central for coast and cities.
The villa was lovely and extremely well equipped with every comfort possible.
The owners were very helpful and thoughtful and always prompt and considerate with any query.
We travelled as an extended family including a three year old and all had a wonderful time.
Don't know how owners can bear to be away from property as we all felt very sad at the end of the week to be leaving and had to drag our selves away!
Lots of useful information on amenities and things to do in the area was provided at the villa and the recommendations on where to eat were very useful, in particular the restaurant with the viewing area was superb.
We all hope to return and will recommend it to family and friends.

"Superb villa, well equipped, ideal family villa in Provence"
This villa is just as you see on the website. In excellent condition, fully equipped, good beds, superb bathrooms, huge living room. It's very quiet, easy to park and a complete equipped kitchen. Everything worked in the property. The pool area is spotlessly clean, again well organised, safe and alarmed. The views were stunning. For us, the location was ideal, away from the august crowds of provence, but easy to access environs of Grasse, and within an hour of Nice airport. We managed to tour extensively from the villa. We loved our stay and this villa comes highly recommended.

"A delightful and well equipped villa in a peaceful setting with lovely hill views"
We were looking for a comfortable villa for 5 of my immediate family to stay in, yet within striking distance of Opio where our elder daughter was working, for the 1st week of August that included her 21st birthday. We struck gold with Villa Mimosas where the tranquil setting enchanted us all. Away from the traffic and crowds yet just a short drive from Cannes/La Napoule etc should the mood take us. It rarely did as we were perfectly happy with just chilling, enjoying local walks and rides, a trip to Lac St Cassien and just a couple of trips to the coast. Villa Mimosas has a hillside setting with beautiful views over the Siagne valley to the hills beyond. It is well equipped with each bedroom having en suites, a large living/dining area, lovely pool and terrace, and shaded verandah and barbecue area for dining. The owners had left a comprehensive guide to the villa and local amenities/restaurants/shopping and much else, sharing their recommendations which proved most useful and accurate. Overall, highly recommended.
