About the home

The house is just 20 minutes drive from the beautiful beaches of Cannes and Theoule sur Mer and the same distance drive into the stunning Corniche hills and Gorge du Loup.

There are lovely walks from the front door into the surrounding hills and a fabulous choice of eateries for all palates in the numerous surrounding Provancale villages. The house provides lots of space for sharers whether seeking peace and relaxation or a more active holiday. Lac St Casienne provides fresh water swimming about 25 minutes to the east of the house.

The house has 5 double bedrooms, two spacious seating areas, a new 'American Kitchen' which is the heart of the house with panoramic views over the surrounding hills. There is a fabulous large terraced garden above the house next to the swimming pool with distant sea views. As the house is on 4 levels so be prepared for a few stairs!

The house is in the heart of the village which is a beautiful but peaceful destination. At the end of the day retire to the village bar for a beer, a glass of wine or a home-made pizza.

There is a beautiful new swimming pool (3m x 9m). There are two beautiful terraces which are great for al fresco dining, sun worshiping or just reading a book.

Despite being in a walled medeval village, the house in unusual in that it has a beautiful terraced garden that provides commanding views over the surrounding mimosa covered hills and out to the south with distant sea views.

The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Alpes-Maritimes region

With its blend of sun-baked hilltop villages and glamorous resorts like Cannes, St Tropez and Nice, the Cote D'Azur is a fabulous holiday destination. The region boasts the hottest and sunniest climate in France, and landscapes range from the foothills of the Alps and fields of lavender to magnificent beaches. The area provides an amazing variety of pursuits to suit all tastes. The hills of the Haute Provence provide stunning walking and cycling areas whilst the azure Mediterranean and the beaches offer the opportunity to relax and soak up the sun.

For those seeking culture, there is the Renoir Museum situated in Cagnes-sur-Mer where his former house is a museum accommodating his most significant works surrounded by a beautiful olive grove which inspired his paintings. Saint Paul de Vence is one of most famous enclaves for artists in France. Its narrow cobbled streets provide a unique setting which made Saint Paul a favorite spot for Picasso, Matisse and other contemporary artists - Marc Chagall even chose to be buried here.

The Auribeau sur Siagne area

Auribeau Sur Siagne is a picturesque, hilltop village situated half-way between Cannes and Grasse, in the Siagne river valley. The walled medieval village is perched atop a hill with commanding views of Grasse to the North and the sea to the South. Most of the houses in the village were built between the 15th and 16th Century and are accessed by winding cobbled streets decorated with hanging floral baskets and vibrant bougainvillea vines.

Local activities include walks to suit all abilities either in the Haute Provence, the Corniche hills overlooking the Mediterranean or along the stunning gorges cutting through towering hills. There is swimming in the sea 20 minutes drive from the house, or alternatively enjoying the local lakes and rivers. The area is a paradise for cyclists, whether on mountain bikes in the hills or following the meandering roads.

Surrounding towns provide a fabulous choice of restaurants to suit all palates and budgets.

In Cannes, sample delicious local food and drink at Marche Fourville, a traditional outdoor market selling an excellent range of fresh produce including fruit and vegetables, cheese, meat, fish and specialty breads, pastas and pâtes. There is even a brocante on Sunday.

Take a day trip to St Paul de Vence. A charming historical hill top art village. For an extra special evening meal, head to Toille Blanche, a super chic boutique hotel and restaurant situated in the hills surrounding the village.

Nice Airport is an easy 40 minutes drive from the house. You can fly to Nice with Air France, Easy Jet, British Airways, Air France or Swiss-Air. At Nice airport all the major car hire companies provide competitively priced car packages.
