Caberfeidh is a well equipped two-bedroom cottage situated in the picturesque village of Aultbea, a small crofting community on the shores of Loch Ewe, in the North West Highlands of Scotland. The accommodation is all on one level comprising a sitting room, kitchen, dining room, bathroom, double bedroom, twin bedroom and a family room with futon, which doubles as a useful second sitting room. The cottage sleeps four with additional space for a fifth person on the double futon in the family room off the kitchen. A travel cot is available. There is a large, secure, dog-friendly garden which is mostly lawned (please note that there is a small pond in the garden so young children may require supervision). There is parking for up to two cars on a gravelled area. The cottage is just a two minute walk from the local pub, post office, doctors' surgery, garage and a five minute walk from the well-stocked local shop.
The sitting room has a colour TV with Freesat, DVD-player, radio/CD/cassette stereo and an open fire for which coal is provided. The cottage has free Wi-Fi internet. The bathroom has a modern white suite and has a bath with an electric shower over. Central heating is by electric storage/convector heaters. You are more than welcome to bring your dogs or other pets to stay at the cottage, providing they are well behaved and house trained and are never left in the cottage or garden unsupervised. Caberfeidh is a strictly no smoking property. Prices include bed linen, towels, electricity and fuel.
The cottage makes an ideal base for walking, climbing, fishing, golfing, cycling, birdwatching, boating, or just enjoying the breathtaking scenery. It is 6 miles from the well-known Inverewe Tropical Gardens. There are beautiful sandy beaches at Gruinard and Mellon Udrigle, and fine walks from Gruinard Bay, Gairloch, Poolewe and the nature reserve at Beinn Eighe on Loch Maree. The area is a haven for seabirds and birds of prey.
