The property is ideal for a peaceful relaxing holiday. Each cottage has its own securely fenced gardens while The secure pool in its own securely fenced area is only metres from your front door.
The gardens are landscaped and colourful.
Charente Maritime is the areahaving the second highest number of sunshine oure in France (after the Riviera) and low light pollution means the night skies are superb for star gazing or more serious astronomy.
There is a small general store 2 km away while supermarkets a a 10 minute drive away.
for those wishing to venture further afield there is the beautiful coastal town of La Rochelle and further south Rochefort. Cognac is an hour's drive away.

The spacious games room is equipped with table tennis and table football. Darts are available on request.
In addition to spacious areas where outdoor games can be played, we mow about 6 km of pathways around the property through our poplar plantation and alongside the river.
A boat is also available for excursions on the river.
While we try to open the pool as early as possible in the year we do not attempt to heat the pool in winter. Usually by May the water is warm enough to be tempting.
Further details
The cottages are spacious and the maximum of 14 people refers to adults and larger children. Additional babies and toddlers can be accommodated but please enquire with the owners first.
While we cannot claim that this cottage meets all the requirements of National Access Standard, accompanied wheelchair users can be accommodated in our groundfloor bedroom with ensuite "wheel-in" bathroom and toilet.
Specialized secure beds and lifting devices are available locally.
Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the cottages
Conditions
Generally speaking the cottages are let Saturday to Saturday but ourside the main summer season we are more flexible. Don't hesitate to ask!
The Poitou-Charentes / Vendee / Charente Maritime region
The Poitou - Charente region is rich in history. You will find a host of historic chateaux and many fine Romanesque churches and Roman sites notably the amphitheatre at Saintes.
On the coast, about 1 hour from us, lie the fascinating towns of La Rochelle and Napoleonic naval base of Rochefort and, in the other direction inland Cognac, with its internationally renowned brands, provides another opportunity for a "day out". Saintes has a spectacular Roman amphitheatre.
Charente Maritime is noted for its exceptional number of sunshine hours (second only to the Riviera). Sunny days and starry, starry nights are normal here!
The Aulnay / Blanzay sur Boutonne area
Our area is flat or gently rolling which, together with unusually little traffic makes it an ideal area for leisurely strolls and family bike rides.
Few can resist the markets, notably those at Aulnay (Thursday and especially Sunday) and St Jean d'Angely (Wednesday and Saturday)
There is a small shop in Dampiere sur Boutonne where you can buy your daily bread, obtain emergency supplies, hire bikes etc. For supermarket shopping, Aulnay, or St Jean d'Angely are your most likely destinations.
Of touristic interest there is a Renaissance chateau at Dampierre sur Boutonne and the church at Aulnay is a UNESCO classed "world heritage site" .
