Unwind and relax at our peaceful sanctuary nestled amongst the trees. Enjoy a glass or two on your private deck while listening to the local Tuis and Bellbirds (Kiwi birds to the uninitated). Or just brew up a cuppa in the cute kitchenette. You'll sleep the sleep of queens in the gorgeous sleigh bed or relax in the cosy lounge (which has a futon sofa bed when required).

The apartment is only five minutes (by car) to the beach & any number of cafes & restaurants. Or you can venture further down the road to Takapuna. Shoppers can get their retail fix (& movies at Event cinema) from Albany mall just a stone's throw away. And walkers will delight at the fabulous coastal walkway that goes to the beautiful Long Bay in one direction & historic Devonport in the other. For golf fanatics, there's a golf club five-minute's drive away.

We are just 25 minutes to the city, & not too far afield from an abundance of some of the best vineyards, fantastic beaches & stunning countryside.

The apartment has its own private entrance but is a part of our beautiful home. We are world travellers who have chosen to settle in Auckland but we are happy to offer help, guidance & the benefit of our experience, or leave you in peace.

If you choose not to venture out, the apartment offers a DVD library, Freeview TV, books, games and free wi-fi.

We can also offer, for a fee: cooked breakfasts (which can be served in the apartment or on our beautiful deck), grocery packs, airport transfers, GPS routing. And if you'd like a Massage/Beauty Treatment at the apartment, we can organise that too!

I am a photographer and as a part of your booking you are entitled to a free photographic session, either in my studio, on a local beach or at a nearby location.

Please note that whilst there is a futon in the lounge, this would not be recommended for an adult guest unless they are coming for a short stay; perfect for a child though. There is an additional charge of 15 pounds per night. Please enquire with booking.

We look forward to welcoming you.

The North Island region

The North Island's climate is the more temperate of the two Kiwi islands, and the further north you drive the more sub tropical it becomes! At the bottom end of the island you'll find our capital, Wellington, which is bursting at the seams with character. If you're after some fun and great scenery try Taupo, the unique Rotorua (full of geothermal wonders & much that is Maori), wine-centric towns like Martinborough, and for any Hobbit fans, the farming community of Matamata, home to Hobbiton! For fans of the great outdoors, the Tongariro Crossing is a hiker's dream.

The Eastern coast below Auckland offers the stunning Coromandel Peninsula. Following the coast all the way up to the Bay of Islands offers the traveller a myriad of delights. Cross over to the Western coast and find Auckland's Muriwai & Piha, altogether more wild, a true surfer's paradise! Continue north on this coastline and you'll end up at 90 Mile Beach & Cape Reinga: where you can partake in dune riding on New Zealand's largest sand dunes, or take a catamaran to go dolphin & whale watching.

Auckland

Auckland is within half an hour of so many beautiful beaches, hiking trails and islands, such as the stunning Waiheke Island just a ferry ride away. It has a passion for outstanding food & wine, and offers a diverse range of cafes, restaurants and nightlife in downtown spots like the Wynyard Quarter & the Viaduct Harbour or further afield in trendy Ponsonby or Parnell.

Just some of the things you can do:

Take a hike up Rangitoto Island, visit the Tiri Island Bird Sanctuary, take a Whale Dophin safari, horse riding, golf, bungy jumping, take a harbour cruise, visit Kelly Tarltons Underwater World, take in a Polynesian Market, Matakana weekend market & just up the road, you can take the fabulous sculpture trail at the local vineyard...
