"Quiet, peaceful, comfortable cottage, beautiful birdsong and green environment"
John and I arrived from Western Australia early in the morning at Blue Bird and Nathalie was kind enough to let us into the cottage instead of having to wait until 2pm in the afternoon. Our first imp… More

"Most complete apartment during our three week holiday"
We stayed with 2 teenagers in February for a week after our 2 week South Island trip. This was definitely the most complete apartment we stayed at.
We were met by a very welcoming host on our late evening arrival.
The apartment is at the back of the lot, a very quiet location. You can sleep with the windows open. It's well located at walking distance to Devonport shops and auckland ferry.

"Exceptional apartment & service"
From the time we booked to the time we left the proprietor, Nathalie, went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed & that we were comfortable. The cupboards were well stocked, the decor clean, fresh & stylish but homely & there were a lot of extras for adult & child recreation eg games, dvds etc. The beds were very comfortable & there is a deck for relaxing on surrounded by trees so it is quite private. We were only a few minutes walk from a lovely cafe & not much further to the waterside dining & shops. We would not hesitate to go back there next time & will recommend them to family & friends.

"Excellent place to stay in Devonport!"
If you are looking for a self-contained apartment for your holiday in the Auckland area, look no further than the Bluebird Apartment in Devonport. This fabulous 2 bedroom apartment has all you could ask for. Clean, nicely decorated with all the amenities of home, Nathalie is a wonderful host and has provided a comfortable homey environment for your stay. We stayed here for 4 days and loved it. The location is very quiet and convenient, you can walk everywhere, whether it is to the stores in Devonport or to the Auckland ferry, we didn't need a car. Nathalie provides some basic food staples which was so nice and the apartment has every appliance including washer that you could want. We would not hesitate to recommend this place and look forward to visiting again.

"always nice to be back here, great feeling"
We are often back in New Zealand for personal reason and we always booked the Blue Bird Apartment when available. This is a great and relax location, the apartment is rather new and has all amenities required for a short or long stay (only missing a BBQ) and the owner are really professional.
I love listening to the birds while enjoying my morning coffee. I recommend this place to anybody, short or long stay.
Thank you very much for your review, it's a pleasure to have you here with your family. & we are looking into that BBQ! We hope to see you again soon.

"Lovely, peaceful place to enjoy a holiday."
Terrific hospitality, friendly owners. The property was clean and comfortable with a modern fit out. We stayed during summer and the property was bright an airy and got lots of sunshine. Amazing birdsong! The location was within comfortable walking distance to Devonport. This enabled us to walk and peruse the shops, enjoy the cafes and utilise the supermarket for food supplies. We also walked to the ferry terminal and went across to Auckland City. Two great swimming beaches are handy for driving to (remember to take your own beach towels). There are also two extinct volcanic cones that you can walk up in Devonport to enjoy the views of city and harbour. One of these is practically on your doorstep. The park two doors down the street was handy for our young child to burn off some excess energy.

"Great place to stay!"
If you don't want the noise and traffic that surrounds most hotels in Auckland city, then this is a fabulous place to stay. Just a short walk from the apartment down to the ferry at Devonport, and in 15 minutes you are in the centre of the city - no driving or parking hassles! The apartment is in a quiet leafy street, close to the shops and cafe's of Devonport. It is a really peaceful place, where the only noise is from birds singing! The apartment itself is immaculately clean and has everything you could want. Nathalie, the owner, is very friendly and supplied breakfast provisions when we arrived, which were much appreciated. She also made sure that there were plenty of games and books to keep our children amused! There is plenty of information at the apartment of things to do in and around Auckland, and it is very easy to get to the motorway (about 10 minutes drive) to head north or south. We will definitely be back to stay again!
