The Tayside/Perthshire region

Perth and Kinross is a very scenic area with much to see and do, including the main towns of Perth and Stirling where historic buildings such as Scone Palace, Stirling Castle and Banockburn can be visited to make your day more memorable. Blair Drummond Safari Park makes a great day out where you can see the fabulous wildlife. You could also enjoy a short sail at Loch Katrine taking in some of the regions most spectacular scenery. Whisky is an important industry in the region, with mainly fine distilleries in the surrounding area. Baxters have a visitors centre which also includes a variety of shops within a few miles.

Auchterarder is known as the "lang toun" or long town, a name derived from its extended high street which runs for over a mile and eventually links with the neighbouring village of Aberuthven. This is the longest main street in Scotland. The lodge is ideally situated for golfers as there are 22 superb 18 hole courses within travelling distance. Visit Scotland offer a 3 day golf pass for as little as £85.00 which allows the golfer to play in courses such as Gleneagles or nearby Auchterarder. The Ochil hills are nearby and there are many lovely walks available. The site is encircled by Ruthven Water and fishing rights are included.
