About this location
The East Anglia region
Beulah Cottage is pretty much at the centre of the roughly circular East Anglian coastline. This means that it is possible to access a fantastic range of beaches from the famous N Norfolk AONB, through the classic seaside vulgarity of Yarmouth, the wild shingle stretches of the Suffolk coast to the genteel timelessness of Southwold.
Birders will know this as prime birdwatching territory, with Minsmere an hour away and lots of other reserves and habitats in easy reach, including the Norfolk Broads, Breckland, Thetford Forest and, of course the coast. Alternatively, you could just set up your 'scope in the woodland attached to the house.
This is a major tourist area, so there are lots of attractions in easy reach, but far enough away to keep our lanes pretty traffic free.
If you enjoy visiting historic buildings and sites, again, you are spoiled for choice, with lots of grand homes and gardens open to the public. There are also many castles, abbeys and other buildings in various states of repair. East Anglia also boasts some of the finest parish churches in the country.
South Norfolk is predominantly rolling arable farmland. There are interesting market towns and many attractive villages. The area has hundreds of miles of quiet, picturesque lanes, ideal for cycling or walking, along with many footpaths, including some well maintained and waymarked long distance paths.
Locally, there are several "gastropubs" in easy reach by car or cycle, along with several more serving typical "pub grub".
Beulah Cottage is completely surrounded by farmland and hence very peaceful, but the village of Bunwell is within easy walking distance. Here there is a village shop which sells most things you may need and a good butcher. We currently still have a post office, too. A visit without a car is therefore feasible, if you are looking for a relaxing break.
The village hall has an all weather floodlit tennis court for hire.

"Delightful cottage in very peacefully location"
Thoroughly recommend this cottage for someone looking for a quiet cottage in the country. It is very nicely appointed, clean, comfortable and to a high standard.. The owners are very friendly and couldn't be more helpful. A good spot to explore the lovely Suffolk/Norfolk countryside.
