About the home

The Athens Heritage House is a 5 star vacation rental home in the historical centre of Athens. Located just a short walk from the Acropolis and the Plaka, in Thissio, the most beautiful section of the historical centre, our home sleeps up to 8 guests in 3 bedrooms with two full baths and one half bath.

This luxury Neo-Classical home offers all the charm of 19th century Athens with the modern conveniences of the 21st century.

Bookings confirmed upon receipt of a signed reservation agreement and 500 euro deposit. Payment in full due 60 days prior to arrival.

No refunds for cancellations within 60 days of arrival. Primary renter must be 25 years or older.

We accept payment by most major credit cards, bank wire transfers and for US guests, by personal check.

The Attica region

Athens is a great year round destination, and our location in the shadow of the Acropolis puts you smack dab in the heart of history.

From Apostolou Pavlou, the pedestrian boardwalk that meanders around the archaeological park, you are just a quick walk from the Acropolis, the Parthenon, the New Acropolis Museum, the Ancient Agora and the Plaka.

We're also just a few minutes from trendy Gazi and the gallery district, and funky Psirri with its night-life and cafes.

Historical and modern Athens at your feet! While the historical centre is just a 10 - 15 minute walk from the penthouse, en route you will pass the Old Olympic Stadium, Hadrien's Arch and the Temple of Zeus, Syntagma Square and the changing of the guard in from of the Parliment. You can also visit the President and Prime Minister's homes en route to Syntagma, and join the Evzones as they march to their positions in front of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier!!

Trendy and chic Kolonaki is located just a 10 minute walk from the penthouse, and en route you might want to visit the National Art Gallery, the Byzantine Museum, the War Museum (great for air plane enthusiasts!), the Benaki Museum and the Museum of Cycladic Art.

At your feet is the vibrant Imittou shopping district. A double wide, boulevard type street, with one side pedestrian, is lined with trees and cafes and is the place for an afternoon "volta" with the locals. Two indoor movie houses and two outdoor movie theatres, for summer films under the stars. Cafes and restaurants, great shopping and even three farmer's markets each week make this the perfect home away from home in the centre of Athens.

“A bucket list vacation” A friendly greeting and a thoughtful basket of goodies greeted us upon arrival. The Athens Heritage House was spotless, in a great location, approximately 15 minute walk from Acropolis. Carol was a tremendous resource, orchestrating travel to and from the airport, a full day private tour of the ruins with Popi (which our entire family rated as the highlight of the vacation); and a private sunset tour to the Temple of Poseidon. The house was perfect for our needs - a master bedroom with separate bedrooms / bath for the young adults who traveled with us, and a dining / living room area for light breakfast and snak.

We stayed with our two daughters, age 6 & 8. Everything was perfect and they thoroughly enjoyed the apartment and the excellent proximity to everything there is to see in Athens. The apartment was clean, convenient and safe. The proximity made it easy to return during the day for the kids to rest / freshen up / have a snack.

We Highly recommend a stay here...you will enjoy yourselves and take many great memories home!

We found the location of Heritage House and its layout to be absolutely perfect for our group of six. Even more impressive, however, were Carole's attention, concern and effort as we planned our trip to Greece. Even though this was my third trip to Greece, Carole made several suggestions of places to visit like Napflio and stay in (e.g. Hotel Papanikola in Piana) that I was not aware of. They worked out superbly. She also stood by our side, ready to help us when one of our party lost his passport on the day of our departure. She was genuinely interested in our experience in Greece, asking pictures and descriptions of our various stops.

I am not given to puffery. However, there is no way I can adequately convey the dedication, knowledge and concern Carole shows for her guests throughout their stay in Greece.

Carol and Basil are the best reason to stay at the Athenian Penthouses or Heritage House.

First, I want to apologize for not writing sooner. It's been just about two months( June 08)since we visited your beautiful home at the Athens Heritage House. I discovered The Athens Heritage House on Craigslist about nine months before my scheduled arrival. I had countless emails with questions for Carole who was always prompt and thorough with her replies.

The house was perfect for my diverse set of needs. The beds and the shower were excellent We loved neighbourhood. I'm still dreaming about the bakery around the corner! We walked everywhere! Carole, thank you for your advise on my other travel plans. Babis, we took your advise and stopped at a village on the Corinth Sea on the way to Delphi and had a delicious fish lunch! Thank you!
